Battery discharge light comes of when braking, car doesn't charge correctly and starts hard.

I have a 2005 Impala 3.4L. It has a history of showing the discharge light when I drive through a puddle or the like. I have done a lot to this car, mostly unrelated to the electrical system. It has overheated twice, and most of my work has been related to that. The battery is two months old, the cables are good, one only four months old, the terminals are good, and the alternator checked out good at O'Reily's.

The most common cause of the alternator not charging when the belt is wet, is the belt is glazed or not tight.
The only thing that comes to mind to cause the charge light to come on when braking is the engine is shifting and you are loosing a wiring connection or ground.

04 chevy impala trac cantrol active while starting of with wheels cut sharp to the left

Cou;d be a speed sensor/ABS. Cutting hard left or right is causing one wheel to move faster than the other. Slight variations will cause a traction light. Over time this will cause the ABS light to come on. I wouldn't worry about it right now. It would be hard to pinpoint the sensor that is going out. Just a note. When the ABS and Traction lights are on. All it does is revert your car back to the old system. Meaning that, your tires will lock up if you hit the brakes hard...

I have an '05 Honda Civic, and we thought the battery was gone. We jump started the car, and drove it home. We fully charged the battery, but it still doesn't start. Lights are funny, and while...

if your seeing 12 volts after the charge, it doesn't mean the battery is good,, a single cell thats bad in a battery will give you fits and produce the problems you listed,, remove the battery , and have it LOAD tested, that way you will get a true correct reading, a battery can show `12 volts, but a bad cell will not let it charge to the correct amps it needs to start the vehicle. once you've done that , and your sure you have a good battery ,, start the vehicle,, ( make sure that when you replaced the battery , that all the connections are clean and tight) with a meter, place one lead on each battery terminal, you should get a reading between 13.5 and 14.5 volts, if you do , then your alternator is doing its job, if not,, replace the alternator, ( your vehicle doesn't have a generator)

Brake and Batt warning lights on at same time while engine running. Brake fluid is max and alternator belt looks good.

1st clean all the battery connections,, it appears whats happening is that the alternator isn't being able to charge the battery after a start , normally a good cleaning will do the trick, But your battery could have a bad cell too, Just because a meter says 12volts, doesn't mean the battery has the amps it needs, so have the battery charged, then LOAD tested, any parts store usually can do this for you . once charged, and with a meter connected to the battery terminals, you should get a reading of 13.5-14.5 volts, if not, you have an alternator issue,, unless the brake pads are worn excessively, correcting the battery issue most the time will also clear the brake light

2003 Chevy Impala Service Traction Sytem show on Dash

I can't answer the question about the gas fumes, but I had the same problem last year with the "Service Traction Sysytem" message and the Trac and ABS lights coming on in my Impala. Mine turned out to be because of a bad wheel bearing, that was causing the ABS and traction system not to work. I'm not sure if you've experienced this, but another thing that would happen with mine was that I would go to brake and have a hard time depressing the brake pedal, almost like it was pushing back. That is the point when the Trac and ABS lights came on.

Battery discharge intermittently with brake light coming on too

Check all wiring connections to alternator and battery to insure all are good, if ok it will most likely need an alternator.
