It seems that your computer needs to have a reinstall of your original setup, because the driver that tells it to shut down is not cooperating. Hopefully you have your original dvd/cd.
Your problem is that XP does not recognize the SATA drive. Here is a link for the Acer 5315 that explains what you need to do for XP to see the drive http://soulpass.com/2007/11/10/installing-windows-xp-professional-sp2-on-acer-aspire-5315-2153-laptop/ Here is a link to the XP drivers that you will need http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3680.html The Intel drivers from the first link should work with your laptop If you don't have a USB floppy drive you will need to create your own CD with Nlite http://www.nliteos.com/ Have installed XP on my daughters 3680 so it can be done.
Hi nveronika,
First things first. Find the name of you're SATA hard disk drive.
Please go to the manufacture's web site & download the floppy drive setup/utilities bootable software or creat a bootable CD from the manufactures site. Boot the system with their software & setup you're hard disk drive which will run in a DOS like window. (This should resovle the blue screen issue).
There are two different revision for the motherboard GA-M52l-S3
(Revisions, 2.0 uses the NVIDIA® GeForce 6100 / nForce 430 chipset): http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=2818
& (Revision 1.0 which uses the NVIDIA® nForce 520LE Chipset): http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=2634
Which is you're motherboard? Once you find the correct motherboard you can download the the needed software directly from the web site & create the correct floppy disk needed when pressing the F6 key during windows installation. If you still get an error message try another fresh floppy disk. (Corruption of files to a floppy usually mean the floppy drive is dirty or bad or the floppy disk is bad). It is also possible that the data cable to the floppy drive is loose or defective. Downloading directly from Gigabyte is suggested over using the CD.
