How can I release the wand from the hose on my Dyson DC50 I have removed both from the maching and tried to press the red bitton to release the wand but no matter how hard I try it's jammed?

I'm not clear from your question whether you want to remove the hose from your DC33 to vacuum with it, or to detach it completely to check for blockages or to replace it with a new hose.

To remove the hose for use, first extend the wand, then press the release catch on the wand:



To remove the hose completely - if you're planning to replace it with a new one, or if you're checking for a blockage - just remove the clear bin and cyclone, and press the release catch shown below:

Our Getting started guide shows how to use your DC25's wand and hose. Pulling the wand straight up to its fullest extent will disengage it automatically, ready for cleaning stairs and other awkward areas around the home:


If you wanted to remove the hose from the vacuum completely - to replace the hose with a new one, or to check for blockages - you just need to disengage the wand, remove the clear bin and cyclone, then press the hose release tab as you pull the hose upwards:

To retract DC50's instant-release wand after use, all you need to do is push the red button on the hose cuff, as shown in the illustration below. I've also attached our Getting started video guide as this should also help.

put it in the upright tube bit first

Hi the wand release button is located directly above the the Cylinder release button. The wand release button looks like the picture below. In order to releease the wand you must firstly make sure the Electrical cable is not wrapped up for storage. So unwrap the electrical cable. then find the item as in the picture. Press this button in and at the same time lift the wand. This will realease the wand from the spine of the Dyson.

I am not clear from your question as to whether you have purchased a replacement hose and need to know how to fit it or you are asking how you use the hose to vacuum?

If you are trying to fit a new hose, with the old one removed, simply line up the large plastic cuff on the base of the hose (this is the one with the cable tidy) and push it downwards into the slot at the base of the main body until it clicks into place. You can then insert the wand handle back in and store it on the machine.

If you would like to know how to to use the wand/hose, simply press the wand catch on the front of the wand handle just above the main carrying handle and pull it upwards. You can then splide the hose to the bottom of the metal pipe and press the button on the hose cuff to release the wand handle. The tools fit directly onto the hose cuff for vacuuming the car, your stairs or upholstery.

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

You would need to release the wand/hose assembly from the machine then slide the hose right to the bottom of the wand and press the release catch to disconnect from the wand. Then at the base of the hose you shoudl be able to un-clip the hose to remove it completely from the machine.
