Are you using the mouse on a mouse mat because you get this prob if the place you are using the mouse is greasy or dust are you using an infra red mouse or does it have a ball in the bottom if it has a ball in the bottom a rubber one undo the clip holding the ball in tip it up so the ball comes out you should now see three rollers the one at top is up n down and one at side is left and right the third is just to hold the ball against the other two all these rollers should be smooth usually they get a build up of dirt in the middle of each roler scratch this of with your finger do this with comp on and try rubbing the rollers up and down and see if the mouse is moving on the scrren how it should clean all three of these rollers check theball is clean and not greasy if you can move the pointer using you fingers on the rollers then you know the problem is not your mouse so put back together then the only other thing could be wrong is the mouse mat you will need to replace this or clean it properly try using the mouse on a book and see if this is any better if you have infra red mouse you dont need mouse mat and should have no problem if you still have problems post back and i will try again hope this is some help to you ............................................

If it only disappears when you move it left or right off the edge of the screen, your video software may think you have a second monitor. Tell it different.

Mouse pointer disappers

I've seen this happen a couple of times when Word uses the initial preview "Read Mode" or Protected View . Try changing the mode by clicking on the View tab and changing the mode to Print Layout. When it happens to me, that seems to do the trick. If you don't want Word to use the Protected View, go into the Trust Settings for Protected View and uncheck the options in there...this may also keep it from happening in the future...good luck! :-)

If you can see a mouse pointer, then your monitor is not the issue.
Your operating system is not loading properly. You will need to have you system looked at to determine why your operating system is not loading correctly.

LCD monitor not working right

This is 2004 model, it may not be worth putting money and time into repairing a 15" monitor. But you can at least look inside for any damaged, burnt components, lose connections, etc. otherwise to do a component level repair at the shop will not be worth it.

Mouse cursor moving by itself

In windows xp go into start menu, then into control panel then click on appearance and themes, then move your mouse over to mouse pointers click on it , uncheck "enhance pointer precision, and click apply, that will stop the mouse from acting crazy, this will work with dell mouse pointers and most.
