MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. To get Itunes bought songs to play on your mp3 player are in ACC.You may need to change it into whatever format your player calls for. they may have to be converted to a different format before they will work in your Mp3 player. Check your user manual for this information.

Mp3 players are programmed to read original & copied songs when you download music into your Mp3. if you copy an original CD (music) to your Mp3, the songs will be displayed along with all the infos of that song, i.e. artist, track #, year, etc. if you copy a CD which contains copied songs from other originals, it will display "UNKNOWN" because original CD's have their own trademarks that distinguishes them from copied CD's or any other CD for that matter...
Try this: Connect your MP3 player to your computer. Open "My Computer". You should see your MP3 player connected. Right click on it. Click on FORMAT. This should completely wipe everything on your MP3 player (except for the original necessary files that came on it origianlly). You should then be able to get all of your space back.
When you download songs, save it first on your My Music folder for you to easily track the song list. Once you have successfully downloaded the songs, insert your MP3 Player. Format your MP3 Player first by right clicking the drive and click format. Once it is formatted, Copy the songs from your My Music folder then Paste it on your MP3 Player drive. *Note: Try to play your saved song in your Windows Media Player if the song is working fine before you copy it on your MP3 Player. If you used Windows Media Player to copy the Cd's to your PC the default setting is to "copy protect my music".
To change that go to Windows Media Player>Tools>Options>Rip Music and uncheck the "copy protect my music" box.
You will need to delete the previously ripped music from your device. Then re-rip the Cd's and transfer them to your device.
Best of Luck.
