Cobra microtalk frs120 won't turn on. Has sat for an extended period; there was a bit of dried battery acid in the battery compartment of both radios. One radio works, but even after replacing th

Sometimes that highly corrosive battery acid gets on the boards and trashes them. I have lost remotes like that and now remove the batteries on those units I do not use often - remotes are expensive!

And if it happens to an expensive piece of equipment, that really bites.

I have recently changed battery on my key fob cobra alarm code 8165,now the car wont read the new one is there a specicfic way of programming the new battery.

The battery only provides power, what you may have done is changed the frequency on the remote somehow. I would highly recommend you speak to the makers of the alarm system.

Iv just got the cobra alarm 7777 it dose not work eny Idears, thanks. somthing to do with a code.

Was it working before or is this a new unit? If it had worked before than you just need to reprogram the remote, Hold down the two gray buttons until the light stops flashing then you press the left larger grey button twice and that should reprogram your remote. If the light is not coming on or this doesn't work change the batteries and try again. If neither of these fix's it then it could be the install itself and that could be many different things
Please respond back with results and vote if I have helped you in any way Thanks Dan

The relay could be bad, or a problem with the PATS.

Changing a battery on a Cobra 7777 remote control

The battery in the 7777 remote is a CR2032. If upon changing the battery the remote fails to work then you should stand next to the car and hold down both remote buttons for around 10 seconds to reactivate it. The remotes LED will flicker rapidly during this process. Keep holding both buttons until the LED stops flickering then release both buttons. The LED should now be on constant, press the larger of the two buttons and the remote should now be re-synced.
Note: This procedure is not to program the remote to the alarm, but to re-synchronise it.
