Question about George Foreman G5 Indoor Grill

1 Answer

Thermal Fuse? Ok, so I know it's a thermal fuse issue... that much I have gleaned. The problem is actually *getting* to the fuse to replace it. For the life of me, I can not figure out how to access that small red pannel on the underside, which is where I assume the thermal fuse itself to be. Little help?

Re: Thermal Fuse?

Under the bottom hot plate, remove the screws and open the grill, one of the wires has a heat protective sleeve on it and is held to the casing with a clip, the thermal fuse is under that sleeve, I contacted the manufacturer and they said it was not available as a spare part.

Wolfgang puck tri-grill/griddle stopped working, can it be fixed

yes its most likely the thermal fuse and if you take it apart you will find it and they are cheap to replace only a dollar or so , very common reason that most people dont know and throw away and buy new , they are designed to fail about once a year for that reason , you could keep it forever if you get some fuses

Used this machine 5 times and it now has no power, just dead!

If fuse in plug ok, Then the week spot is the wiring, Bear in mind the elements are in the top and bottom sole plate so stress faults can occur in the wiring between these plates. Also sometimes a thermal fuse may have gone, This component is usually hidden somewhere in the wiring.

Foreman gv5 grill just stoped working

There is a thermal fuse in series with the heating coils inside. You will have to disassemble it, find the fuse, take it to an electric supply house and get a replacement. Some soldering "may" be necessary.

My gr31sb grill wont heat up, i found the microtemp g4 thermal fuse is bad by by passing it and the grill works. how do i get a new fuse?

Don't know if this helps but Radio Shack has Microtemp 10 amp G4A00 Tf 144c (144 deg Celcius) Thermal Fuses. These are the ones with the little red conical end on them. Under $2 each. I needed one to put in my toaster oven. Couldn't find the small metal clips to attach it to the wiring though. Since it is very diffucult to solder these without damaging the fuse, I'll have to recycle the old clips.

My G5 Grill will not turn on

I'm not sure, but there is probably a thermal fuse which has blown. These are very difficult to acquire and sometimes very difficult to install (they can't be soldered -- you have to use a crimp connector).

The fuse is about the size of small glass fuse and has a wire on either end of it and it's connected in line with the hot wire coming from the wall outlet.
