Question about Acer Aspire 3680 Laptop
While trying to find an video media application to play .mkv video file, I installed and uninstalled several players. some how in my trial I have mannaged to remove the audio devices.... when I go to the control panel and look at Sounds and Audio devices, the only device I have is 'Bluetooth AV/HS Audio' although this laptop is bluetooth enabled, I do not have a bluetooth headset and would be more than happy with just the laptop spealers and the normal headset port for connecting additional speakers.
PLease help me... I have no idea what caused this situation and I do not know how to fix it. I cannot disable the bluetooth AV/HS device as I have no other audio device drivers on my laptop...
Go to acer,
click on america, click on drivers & downloads, product line = notebook, product = aspire 3680... you will want to download the audio driver if using xp or the realtek hi def audio driver if using vista.
as far as the mkv support, VLC (video lan player) supports matroska pretty well, you can also download the CCCP playback pack of codecs to support mkv in pretty much any directshow player (media player, media player classic, winamp, etc)
