Daily password changes to Amazon, Hotmail. What am I doing wrong???

I hope you have figured out your problem by now. I am assuming that you mean you have to reset your passwords daily, which is definitely not a good thing. If you are just changing your password every day for security purposes, that is a little excessive but there isn't anything necessarily wrong with it. For the first case (most likely) consider some of the following:
  • Always keep your antivirus software up to date. McCa
  • Check your caps lock and num lock on the keyboard. Num lock is especially tricky on keyboards that do not have the separate number pads, as some of the letter keys become numbers when num lock is on. Passwords are case sensitive, make sure your caps lock is off when you are creating your password and when entering it.
McAfee and Norton are very good antivirus options, AVG also has a free option.

I hope you find and resolve your problem quickly.

Could you explain what the symbol of a closed padlock with the figure 1 beside it on the Touch Sensitive Control area indicates?

Hello Jack, I believe that the symbol means that your number lock is turned on. The way it got turned was at least two ways that I can think of. 1. The computer's BIOS is configured to turn it on when powered up. 2. You may have done this yourself by accident. The Num lock is also activated by a function key combination on the keyboard. To turn the lock on or off you locate the FN key at the bottom left side of your keyboard. Now on the top row of keys locate a shadowy outline of the words NUM LOCK. Press and hold the FN key and tap the NUM LOCK key. The light should go out. If there are further problems please return and post them here.

ASUS Q501L Notebook PC, how do I keep or even start the numbers lock keypad? Keep pressing num lk key but nothing happens.

Admittedly, the placement of the "END" key is odd in the location where the "NUM LOCK" key would normally be. However, if you look at that key closely you will note that there is a second function to it. Hold down the "fn" key and press the "End/num lk" key and the numbers will be turned on.

Unlock number lock

On a laptop, the "Num Lock" key has a function slightly different than the one it performs on full-d desktop keyboards. Activating "Num Lock" on a laptop usually transforms a set of central keys, including many letters, into number keys, allowing typists used to entering numbers on a keypad to type efficiently. While on desktop keyboards "Num Lock" usually has a dedicated key, on laptops it often shares a key with another function on MacBooks, for example, it shares the "F6" key and you must hold down the "Shift" or "Fn" key to activate it.

Look for the "Num Lock" key on your laptop's keyboard. This is usually near the top of the keyboard. If the key says nothing on it except "Num Lock" if that's the only function the key performs you can just press it to activate the lock; a light will probably go on somewhere to indicate that "Num Lock" is on. If the key has multiple functions, you'll have to hold down a different key while pressing it. Hold down "Shift" and press "Num Lock" if the writing saying "Num Lock" appears above some other writing on the key, the way various symbols appear above the numbers on the keyboard's number row. Hold down "Fn" and press "Num Lock" if the writing saying "Num Lock" appears in a different color often light blue that's shared by the "Fn" key.

My numeral key are not working[123456789 right side of key bord]

Step 1:
On some laptops it may be difficult to locate and activate the "Num Lock" key. Depending on the laptop, it may be hidden as a function where you have to press two keys. Most of the time, a laptop keyboard is just like a full desktop computer keyboard and it has a "Num Lock" key on it. Most people do not realize the "Num Lock" key is on their laptop keyboard because it barely serves a purpose without a full numeric keypad.

Press the "Num Lock" key on the laptop at the top, right of the keyboard. Press the "Num Lock" key and the "Fn" key simultaneously if the above does not work. Press "Fn" and "F11" simultaneously on the keyboard to activate the "Num Lock" function. Some laptops, like Toshiba, do have a "Num Lock" key. The shortcut for G3 Mac laptops it is "F5," and on G4 Mac laptops it is "F6."
