Re: returning to out of the box status

You can do a restore to factory setting if you have a set of restore CD's or if it is stored on a hidden partition. If on a partition it will sometimes give you an F12 option to hit and you follow directions from there. From CD's you boot off the CD's. If this is a home-built unit, you will have to format and reinstall ALL drivers, applications and of course the operating system

Hello, sir i need your i have installed Internal Mirror 1 Home and Student 2007 Microsoft office , i want a product key if u know about this please help me sir.

You must purchase a product key from Microsoft as it is against the law to provide a number without a purchase.. You should have received one when you acquire the office software! Let me know if this answers your question and good luck..

Looking at the board with the SATA connectors to the right and the backplate to the left. Look to the lower right corner of the board. You will see a group of two rows of pins(9pins with one missing) The pin that is missing is pin#10. The pins are numbered even on the pin#10 side, odd on the other. The Power Switch - Pin 2 is the Red wire/white is Pin 4. The Power Led - Pin 6 is blue pin 8 is white.

It seems to be BIOS password, if you don't remember or don't have the BIOS password you have to reset the password by opening your CPU cover and removing the CMOS coin battery, this will reset the BIOS password but dont forget to return back the battery and start using your PC.

Attn: GWoodruff, thx for answer yesterday about sleep option. But changing power options does not correct problem of sleep only being active for brief moment before returning to on status. Help!

Hello, I think I misunderstood your problem. It sounded like your pc was going into sleep mode too soon, From this post it appears your problem is just the opposite. If the pc is waking up from sleep after a few seconds. Right click on the my computer icon and choose properties, then hardware/device manager/network adapters/properties/power management, there should be a box labeled let this device bring the computer out of standby, if it is checked uncheck it. Let me know if that solves the problem.

Desktop Lockup

Remove the cover to look at the power supply fan while it is powered on ( if needed). The fan should be spinning at a steady rate. If you observe fluctuations in the rotation, these are early indications of a malfunctioning power supply unit. As for the knocking sound, can you hear it better or determine its source if the cover is removed? It could be the fan hitting the side of the power supply or wiring. The good news is that if it IS the power supply, they are relatively inexpensive and easy to replace. Your sister may not be out of luck!
But if the light is blinking- and orange - this is definite indicator that the power supply is going. Still a good idea to replace the p/s unit and let her use it. With RAM being as cheap as it is, I'd also recommend bumping it up to 512 minimum if not a 1 GB.
