Hi - I have a panasonic ag-7330 SVHS deck. It lights up but does absolutely nothing. The Video Rec Servo light is blinking constantly. Any ideas?

It's at least 26 years old - unlikely that it can be serviced after this length of time.

well if it uses a tape mechanism .It will only have 3 motors .LOADING, CAPSTAN and HEADS.If one of these is running without tape ,you should get an error of somekind of your screen .If there is no error from mech then noise is possibly an electrical whine from the LCD panel power supply and or main camera power supply .

Can you describe the problem so we can try to give you a solution?

On the cassette shell is a small sliding door that prevents recording, move it to the record position.
The idea is to protect a valuable tape from being recorded over.

the tape deck has jumped timing and can cost 40 to 100 dollars depending on how quick it takes the tech

ag-456 vf is black and white only.

check the main board for bad solder connections near the power connection.

i JUST BOUGHT A NEW AG-IA12 SERIAL REMOTE FOR THESE DECKS ON EBAY

Cleaning is a good first step. If cleaning the deck doesn't work, it may need a tape path alignment.

Hey I think it would difficult to find a manual for a AG-455, though being very similar to the AG-456 (which seems to be more popular) would you be happy with the manual for that model? I downloaded the AG-456 manual from somewhere last year but unfortunately can't remember from where. I do have the PDF file if you're interested though..
