-   when i tried to down load music to the nano it showed to be sny. but i could never find the music or get it to play. will it only down load from itunes?-   badmom

Did you place the music on your iPod via iTunes, or just drag and drop to the device?

The music must be added through iTunes, or the iPod will just act as an external hard drive--storing your music, but you can't play it.

If you just dragged and dropped, take it off your iPod, start up iTunes, then add the music that way.
