The pilot adjustment screw is located on the back side of the oven temperature thermostat. Lift the cook top to access it. Use a flat screwdriver to adjust... counter clockwise= bigger flame.

sorry, misinformation, no such child lock existed in those days, either your spark module is bad or your switches are bad, (unusual for all switches to fail simultaneously)

SOURCE: Natural Gas to Propane for Ge xl44 Gas range

The kit is located at the rear of the range right near the gas valve, there are probably 5 spuds and an extender for the large burner, directions are with the range. For the bake and broil you will need to tighten the brass orifice nuts down as tight as possible, also the brass nut on the gas valve needs to be reversed
your local LP dealer should be able to do this for you if you are uncomfortable doing it yourself.

SOURCE: how to adjust gas regulator

Hi,
The center part of the regulator...
Make sure that you have the gas turned off...

Then turn the center part out and flip it up side down and then turn it back in till it seals...

Turn the gas back on and then check for leaks with a dish soap and water solution... if it blows bubbles it is leaking...

Tappan ES 200 burner stays on high and not turning off.

I need to clarify a bit.... did you remove the knob and check where the metal rod inserts into the plastic knob hole? If that is chipped on the inside, it will not turn the metal rod that comes out of the stove. Take the knob off, and use a pliers to turn the metal rod. Leave me comment if you have already checked that or you do not have that type of knob on your model.

You have to light burners on stovetop with a match all the time.

The pilots for the range top are beneath the top of the range top. YOu will see them if they are there. YOu stove may use electronic ignition and you can hear the sparking when you turn the knob to the "light" position.

If it is electronic ignition, make sure the stove is plugged into an operating outlet

Natural gas to LP converters

Your Tappan dealer can help you with this. You have a good named unit so it shouldn't be a problem. You could also check with your gas company as to where to get the conversion parts.

Tappan gas range 50 deg. too hot

I was unable to find a photo large enough to see if this range has stove-front knobs or electronic controls. If it is equipped with a knob for oven control, pull the knob off and peer into the shaft to see if a slotted adjustement is visible. If so, you will need a small-bladed, long shaft screwdriver to reach and adjust it.
