On my Samsung Omnia all incoming calls are shown as private number, even if it's actually from a number registered in both sim card and phone memory. Any suggestion how to fix this, so that I'd actually get to know who is calling me before I answer??? It's even worse with missed calls ifthe person does not leave a message...

Hi, My Nokia 130 phone does not display number for incoming calls. It shows "private number" for all the incoming numbers. I tried moving contacts from SIM to phone, removed duplicate entries. Even restored the factory settings twice. But still it does not help. I will be grateful for any help in this regard.
If you have a Samsung phone, you have the ability to send an incoming call directly to voicemail, without it even ringing on your device. Look for the "block list" feature on your device. Or calling customer care for help in blocking a specific phone number is one of the most suggested solutions. Alas! it doesn't work most of the times. But some carriers do let you block a phone number but only after verifying the facts and asking few security questions. Regards
it could be possible that the caller is blocking their number. It should show as "unknown" or something like that, maybe even "private". In either case, the person being called would not control the callers sent number, it would be the Telco on the other end
Thanks for using FixYa. I think you have stored more than 100 Caller ID messages and hence the caller ID is not showing on Uniden Tru8888.In the following cases the caller ID will not be shown-
If you answer a call before the Caller ID message is received (for example, before the second ring), the Caller ID message will not appear.
When the call is received via a telephone company that does not offer Caller ID service, the caller’s phone number and name does not appear. (This includes some international calls.)
When the call is via a private branch exchange (PBX), the caller's phone number and name may not appear.
You may receive any one of the following messages:
When a private name is received; Private Name
When a private number is received; Private Number
When a unknown name is received; Unknown Name
When a unknown number is received; Unknown Number
When invalid data is received; Incomplete Data
The Caller ID list stores information for incoming calls - even unanswered calls. You can store up to 100 Caller ID messages and phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) for each handset and the base. You can view the Caller ID list through the handset or base during a call or when the phone is in standby mode.
Memory locations for Caller ID messages and Phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) are common, you can store up to all 100 entries for each handset and the base. Caller ID messages are not stored when you have 100 phonebook entries. When you have stored a total of 100 phonebook entries and Caller ID messages, the oldest Caller ID message is overwritten.

Nokia 6111 and Nokia 6300 are the ultimate phones and I like it very much.
SOLUTION: 1.Go to "menu".2.Then select "settings" by scrolling down.3.Inside "settings" menu, go to "call settings".4.Inside call settings we can see various options to select that contains reject/show busy/divert.we can choose any one from them. SOME TRICKS:Hiding your Mobile/ Cellphone Number 1.Go to: Menu > Tools > Settings > Call > Send My Caller ID > "'Yes', 'No' or 'Set By Network'" to follow the default settings of your home network. It works only with very few network who provide you facility of “Private Number”
its most likely a service issue. actually im 99% sure, just ring your service provider and explain your problem, or if you wanna be more technical just tell them that they havent adequately provisioned your CLI number.
