Question about Kenmore 659 Electric Dryer

Dryer (kenmore ultra care) is making a noise...

When i start my dryer, there seems to be something inside causing it to make a loud noise. I need to know how i could take care of this myself by taking the back cover off somehow to actually see what the problem is. I attempted to take the back off to no avail. Could you please send me a link to a schematic or a d/l of an owner's manual?

Remove 2 screws at filter area. Pull top forward and pull up. Remove 2 screws holding front on. Remove drum and check 2 drum rollers to see if they spin freely. If not, replace them. Also check idler pulley.

You have a bad thermal fuse , usually caused by lint blockage from the filter or vent hose .

Dryer is making loud thumping noise.

Take off the back panel of the dryer and look at the motor and belt turning the drum. There may be something caught on the drum and is pinned in place causing the noise. The motor could be loose on the platform and needs to be tightened. It is probably something physical and seen causing the noise.

Loud Grinding noise in Dryer

I know this prob is old, but I had the very same prob with my dryer (very loud squeaking noise). The prob was that there was a screw stuck between the rotating part and the stationary part. Meaning - look inside the dryer (main area - where the clothes go) and rotate it by hand. You may hear and see something causing the friction. Gerard

Dryer making loud clunking noise

Make sure the drum is not catching the back panel, and that the fan is not loose on the motor.

Loud noise when dryer is running.

My guess is that the belt is going bad. It could also be a bad bearing...the noise is generally metallic. Also...a bad belt tensioner comes to mind.
