My monitor Chimei CMV 946A gets 2 sec. picture but then went black. power still on

Apparently about 10 year old monitor, and when I searched using https://www.google.com I only saw a malicious website pretending to have a manual to download.

The chimei website is the logical place to request assistance.

How old is it? If it still under warranty get it repaired, it sounds like the switch is gone or the energy saving s/w inside is bad and is not detecting when/when not to turn the display on/off.

Chimei CMV monitors do not come with drivers and they are not available. They are plug and play devices.What exactly is the problem you are having?

Sound like your display is having issues with the inverter board. When the power supply detects a short circuit, it turn off by itself. When you try several times, you may be able to "bypass" the circuit protection but the damaged parts still having problems. This issue may be related with the DELL display issues.

The display needs to be fixed by someone with experience in electronics repair.
