Turned my tv on today and only 1 speaker working (left front). Yesterday all speakers were working fine. Have unplugged everything and set up again but still just the one speaker working. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem with my Lifestyle 50 system. All analog sources only come out of 1 of 5 speakers, the left front. But digital sources over the coaxial input are in proper surround. Therefore I know all my speakers are working and the wiring is correct. I even went as far as replacing the entire Acoustimass 30 subwoofer unit with a known good used replacement. It has the same problem. So I don't have a full answer, but at this point I can guess that it's either an inherent problem with the sub, to the point that both mine and the replacement had the same issue. Or more realistically, the 8pin cable from M1 to Sub is to blame. Or it's the M1 unit itself. However we've had a professional bose repair shop repair and even replace our M1 unit in the last year, so I'm tempted to say it's not that. I'm still unsure what it is. I'm lost

Swop left & right speakers, if only the right speaker works, the ex left speaker is faulty, if the left side still doesn't work, the problem is the tv

Testimonial: "Sorry, I probably should have added that only 1 of 5 speakers are working. Doesn't matter if it is the tv, cd or blue-ray player. Could it be the M1 interface?"

  • Geoff Dellow Aug 20, 2015

Probably is the interface, have it checked out

I have a 32" RCA LCD tv , rlc3210 power input says

Is it hooked up with HDMI cable?

If so try unplugging the HDMI cable and re plugging the cable in, sometimes those cables work loose and if they are not tight, it will cause your screen to flicker. Happens to my TV once in awhile.

Sound through only one speaker

Check the other speaker which do not work. In most cases, the speaker is found faulty. If so, replace it with a similar one.

Bought a LG Blu ray DVD Home theater system last weekend and set up with LG lcd tv and has been working fine till today. We had the radio on and I turned the TV on and the two rear speakers do not work...

Hello,
In a surround sound system, the correct way to listen to music is in stereo mode which will play out of your left and right channels and your subwoofer. When viewing a movie with surround sound, then you should use your rear speakers. The key element to remember is that rear speakers are only intended to play your sound effects, and will not play full range audio. Thats what your fronts and center are for. If you simply want to override this, than you will need to select the direct sound field on your receiver and than it will send full range audio to all speakers connected. Most likely, its not going to sound that good. If you dont know what each sound field does, here is a list and function of the most commonly used ones.
Stereo-Front Left and Right speakers including subwoofer
Dolby Digital or PLII Movie-these are the bost options for your surround sound
Direct-All speakers connected get full range signal
Good Luck

Same prob. My acer worked y.day and now no sound.

I completely unplugged my speakers. And uninstalled all the hardware for my speakers. Then restarted my computer. Then inserted my format disc for my speakers. Reinstalled it. Using all automatic speaker settings. And they work fine now.

theres probably a problem with the right channel cable or plug that connects the tv to the reciever, or the tv is set to mono audio.

5.1 surround does not work

try splicing your cables to the speakers back about 2-3 inches check all you componet cables to make sure they are all "all" the way in and re-wire the speakers into the jacks, cause anything mildy out of place can casue the other speakers to cut out

Speakers not working proprerly

This may be in the sound card settings itself. Even though you may have adjusted the Windows settings {if thats what your using} the sound card needs to also be set up for surround. Some sound cards do not support 4 speakers or surround sound systems. Go to Device Manager and find your sound card and manufacture then check there technical support page for info.
