Question about Canon PowerShot S3 IS Digital Camera
It is likely that an internal integrated circuit in the DC/DC board is damaged.
Either an electronic component just is worn out, or moisture or humidity affected the camera.
You can try with a different set of batteries (different brand and type) since such DC/DC converter board has a monitor circuit of the battery level, and when the components of it start failing, gives a wrong battery level to the micro-processor.
If after try other batteries you have the same problem, then you will need to have your camera reviewed by a qualified technician to have it repaired, since it requires open the camera and evaluate the DC/DC board performance.
