i lost my installation CD for printer Pixma iP1000, downloaded some drivers from canon.com, but it still doesn't work.
where can i find an installation software for Windows XP?

As long as you downloaded the correct drivers from Canon.com they should work. You should, using Control Panel / Add Remove Programs, remove any and all software for your printer. Double check at the Canon site that you have downloaded the correct drivers, and then do a clean install. Check the manual and follow their instructions. If after all of that your printer still does not work, you may have a faulty printer.
