3 times my camera malfunctioned, and I delivered the camera back to the store. Because they have tried to repair it 2 times, and after a couple of months the same problem again. And now i think this camera is history, it seems to me that they cant fixed it. New batterie dosn't fix it, it takes just a little longer time for it to malfunction again. I have asked to get my money back, and I will. In Norway we have Consumer laws that give the customer the right to get money back if the same problem occure more than 2 times, and it did.But the store is not willing to that, but the consumer rights are on mine side. I hope ther are same consumer rights in other country's because this camera is ****.

I had the same problem.. just need to change the 2 pronged cable that goes from the main into the charger. It worked for me...

  • Reginald Vaz Nov 04, 2012

Hey, I just had this problem with a Sanyo battery pack (and i thought it was the non-sanyo Li battery) and noticed it wasn't getting warm even 2 hours after "charging" and the red light was flashing - so i turned it off, disconnected the cable from the charger and realised it could go the other way, so tried that AND IT WORKED! i don't know what that cable is called, the 2-prong black cable, but give that a go (turn off in between!).

actually, commenting on my prev comment, it might have also been due to a bad connection, since i thought those cables were uni-directional. in either case try plugging in firmer and change directions where possible (unless it clearly states which way it should go!)

You have the polarity wrong on the charger. Take out the lead that goes between the wall and the transformer (black box) and plug it in so that it is the opposite way around (what was on the left is now on the right). The red light will stay on and the battery will charge

I was having the same problem. I went to the store I bought it from because I bought the extended warranty but they told me they couldn't help me. I then called Casio and I was told that there is a known problem with this particular battery. I called on a Monday and received the battery in the mail on a Thursday of the same week. They do not check when you bought the camera so as long as you say its is under a year old you are all set. Hope this helped.

I have exilim s600 probably it around end of 2006 and dont really use it much, within months of my purchase i had the red blinking light on the cradle...i thought they had just given a bad battery so i purchased a new battery on my own(abt 30 bucks)...and i still have the same problem....i called Casio and it's probably because my purchase has been over a year that they said i had to mail my cradle, ac adaptor, battery etc to the their company...they couldnt just give me free battery..what a hassle, i havent bother to send i just want to let any future Casio buyers not to ever buy a casio camera...i liked my casio camera when it worked but it's not a good investment for the long run( mines was close to 200 bucks )..i am lookin into buyin a Canon camera instead ...
i am not a happy Casio customer
Casio should do something about these batteries if it's been an ongoing common issue...
im sure that if u guys end up owning ur cameras after a year, they wont be giving u free replacement batteries without any hassle

I called Casio's support line and they say it is a known problem with the batteries. They had a new battery shipped out to me free of charge.

The reason this happens is that the battery is defective. I found this on multiple sites but also lists this as the reason for the problem.

It says:
When I put my camera on the cradle, why does the charge light- - -
B) Blink red? Answer: Battery defective.

Hope this helps!

This has happened to me a couple of times. I think you have to play with the battery a bit, wiggle it around... and then sometimes the light stays on and the battery charges... somehow I think this is an issue with the charger though....

I have a wireless charger for a phone with a Qi chip in it. I am trying to charge my friends phone and the charger is flashing red and then blue. Does that mean it has Qi and it is charging or not?

Silly question, but is your friends phone Qi supported? Normally a red flashing light means that there is an error in charging. It will blink blue when charging and steady blue when fully charged. I am not quite sure what it's erring for, however, red should only blink when there is a problem, so I would have to say that it is having problems and not charging properly. What is causing that I'm not sure, I might trying Googling your particular model of charger and see if they have an FAQ that will explain the lights. This is the best I can offer at this time. Good Luck! Maybe someone else has encountered this and can go a little more in depth.

Why is the green light blinking on the ryobi battery charger

please check if the RED LED light is flashing or not. If yes, this battery may defective.

If defective, try to repeat the conditions a second time by removing and reinstalling the battery pack. If the LED status repeats a second time, try charging a different battery.

If a different battery charger normally, dispose of the defective pack.

If a different battery also indicates "Defective", the charger may be defective.

Red light flashing on charger

A red light indicates the charger is charging the battery, an amber light means it has switched from fast rate charging to trickle to keep the battery topped off, and green would mean the battery is completely charged. But don't be fooled waiting for green, many times the charger will only be on green for a moment before changing to amber and keeping the battery topped off.

Flashing can be a sign of a problem on some chargers.

A rapid flashing red can on some chargers indicate a bad or shorted battery, or a bad battery contact in the charger itself. If in question, try a different battery on the charger or compare with another charger to determine if the blinking is normal.

Best regards.

Ryobi charger model # 140295003 has a red and yellow light. When charging red light is on what does the yellow light mean? Also how long should the battery be left in the charger?

Completely wrong. Quoting from the user's manual:

"The charge indicator light (LED), located on the charg- ing stand, will light up red and glow when the char- ger is properly connected to power supply. This light indicates the charger is operating properly. It will remain on until battery pack is removed from charging stand or charger is disconnected from power supply.

After normal usage, 3 hours or less of charging time is required to fully recharge battery pack.

If both red and orange LED indicators glow, the battery pack is deeply or completely discharged, and 6 hours or longer of charging time is required to fully recharge battery pack.

Note: If charger does not charge battery pack or orange LED continues to glow after more than 30 minutes of charging, return battery pack and charging assembly to your nearest Ryobi Authorized Service Center for electrical check."

So to summarize: red = charging. orange (yellow) = fully discharged battery. orange after 30 minutes - bad battery or bad charger.

What does flashing red light on wii dock charging station mean??

Make sure that when charging the battery pack it must be attached to a wii-mote otherwise this may cause a flashing red light. If the battery pack is attached to the wii-mote and you still have a flashing red light this may indicate that there could a problem with the battery pack itself.

Dewalt battery charger won't charge

As you know, solid red on your charger means that the battery is fully charged and the BLINKING red light means the battery is charging. Unless the light is blinking irradically everything is working the way it is supposed to. If the light is blinking irradically, the battery may just be too hot or too cold to charge ( like when you are driving many lags and your battery dies) and in this case simply wait 15 minutes to charge. If you get a fast blinking light still, the problem probably is with the battery.

sounds like a dead battery. Plug the origional charger into it and the front led (below the flash) should flash red. If the red led in the back of the camera flashes or stays lit, then you have the wrong charger plugged in. (the camera won't power up if the back red/green led is on when plugged in)
