As soon as I connect it to our beamer, my T500 doesn't play DVDs anymore, says is not allowed to play this DVD. Same thing with different players. But absolutely no problem, when beamer is disconnected. And no problems showing anything else on the beamer. And: the DVDs are not copies, but regularly bought in the store. Thanks for hints for a solution.

Unfortunately there are no known ways to change the user code. The parental controls are set because it's a DVD player for kids - and you must input the password every time you want to play a DVD.
1369 is the code to allow you to play blocked movies. I still
haven't found a way to change the level. Again, you have to input the code each
time. I know it stinks, but I guess they didn't think of the parental feature in its entirety.
u have a cable/sateliite connection...cable from wall to cable box in...cable box out to vcr/dvd in....vcr/dvd out to samsung lcd in....(vcd/dvd and samsung must be tune to ch 3) now u should be able to record all channel (note HBO, and some others like it may not allow dvd recording) vhs yes.

If the player is doing that for all DVDs but playing CDs properly, the player has gone bad due to either the laser and lens being out of whack or the DVD drive just doesn't recognise DVDs anymore and needs repaired or replaced.
It's interesting that your DVD player was purchased in Russia but plays Region 1 DVDs. Region 1 is North America. Does your Player also play Russian DVDs (region 5)? If so, then it has probably been modified to play DVDs from multiple regions.
Check the back side of the DVD player - the rear panel should have a Region number on it. If the region number is 1, then try playing a Region 5 DVD. If it reads the DVD, then the modification that was done in Russia will probably allow it to read any DVD. IF the Region 5 DVD won't play (or if it is ejected automatically), then your player's region control os still intact, and it will only play DVDs from the same region as the one listed on the rear panel of the player (or DVDs marked "ALL").
I hope this helps - please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
You can try reseting the unit. Reset the set to the default factory settings: All the information stored (programmes, time and date) will be lost. 1. Disconnect the set from power supply. 2. Press and hold down "STANDBY•ON" on the set and reconnect the set. 3. As soon as "IS TV ON?" is displayed, release "STANDBY•ON."
Hopefully reseting it will clear whatever problem it is having and allow you to once again use your DVD player. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
