Is the thread pulling out of the needle when you first begin to sew? If so, be sure you are pulling sufficient thread through the needle at the outset--between 4-6 inches. You can also try bringing the bobbin thread to the top before beginning to stitch.

Bernina 707, the top thread is not collecting the bottom thread therefore not forming a stitch, any suggestions thank you

generally it is a needle thread tension problem so increase the tension right up
it could be a needle /hook timing issue if you had had broken needles lately

Needle won't remain threaded

make sure the thread has long thread tails of 4 to 6 inches long
and have the thread tails pulled behind the needle before starting
to sew.

The self threader won't catch the thread

make sure the needle is inserted correctly into the needle holder
if the needle threader has worked before then there could be something
wrong with the needle threader

My needles hits the lower loop on my 16sh644 serger and the thread from my needles won't stay wrapped around the lower loop lever

it's very possible that the machine is out of time & needs to be serviced at a sewing machine shop

When sewing, the thread keeps pulling the fabric threads and the result looks messy. I've tried playing with the thread tension but it won't help.

have you tried using a new needle- if the needle is the slightest bet bent or or damaged it can cause problem with the fabric threads

if the needle is not the correct one for the fabric, it can move or damage the fabric threads

also clean under the needle plate for loose threads or lint also in the bobbin area

Needle won"t stay threaded

that use to happen to me on my sewing machines, I would rethread the machine to make sure the thread is not caught on anything like the thread spool, or around anyone of the thread guides

also for both top & bottom threads, I keep a thread tail of 3 to 6 inches & before I start sewing I pull the thread behind the needle to the back of the machine & the I put the fabric under the foot & start sewing & now I don't have that problem anymore

The bobbin thread wont come up when lowering the needle

The bottom thread won't come up?
Make sure you:
-Have the top threaded and through the eye of the needle (Basics are best to check, I've missed it once or twice! lol)
-Are holding the tail of the top thread when you lower your needle and pull it back up (Hold it too tight though, and it might not grab)
-Have an inch or two of "tail" or extra thread for the needle to grab on your bobbin thread (sometimes it won't grab if there's not much there)
-Have all your lower pieces in and secure. (Mine tend to jump around if I'm not putting 'em in right)
If it's still not grabbing, I'm not sure. Sorry, hope it helps.
