Sometimes, you may get printer not activated - error code 30 when you try to print using your printer. It may occur when you try to print a PDF document. Sometimes, your Antivirus scripts block you from generating the document and you may have to face this issue. If you have installed Antivirus software and you have encountered "Printer not activated" error, you need to disable script blocking. If this does not resolve the issue or you do not have installed Antivirus, you need to change the Calyx Document Converter printer settings. If it also doesn't work, you need to reinstall the printer driver in your system.

SOURCE: printer not activated, error code -30

I have fixed this problem, and I also know what caused it initially. First of all, this started happening after I installed software called WillMaker Plus 2009. For some reason, that installation also had created a new "Quicken PDF Printer." I think that was interfering with my default printer. So what I did, was completely unistall my default printer driver, turn the printer off, and then reinstall that specific driver from online. When I turned my printer on, my computer sensed new hardware, and took it from there. Fixed.

Check if you printer you are wanting to print from is the default printer to your system.
You can make the printer your default printer by clicking 'Start', and then click 'Printers and Faxes' to open the 'Printers' folder, if the desired printer does not have a check mark next to it, right-click the printer icon and then click 'Set as Default Printer'. You can right-click on the printer icon, and then click on the 'Print Test Page' to print a Windows self-test page.
