It sounds like your video card is heating up and the computer is shutting down to prevent damage. You can open the case and check the fan on the card. Cleaning it might be an option. Adding more cooling should also work.

It MIGHT be the motherboard... however it still seems to boil down to a cooling issue... when you start playing your game, try taking the side cover off of your computer to add more airflow.... See if that prolongs your game time :)

Depends on your layout.. my suspicion is that the current cooling fan on the graphics card has substandard cooling.. IF you can replace the fan on it with a better fan, that would be optimal. Also, make sure all your case fans are clean and work well.. also make sure that your graphic card is not right above a heat source like a hard drive.. try to give it as much space as possible.

By any chance.. are you overclocking? If so, step that down some too because that could cause some heat. Hope this helps!

My dell is too slow even if i am playing computer games. why?

Your Dell laptop has low RAM/high CPU usage, a lot of games tend to use high CPU, so your laptop could be a little old for newer games, so you should upgrade it, or you have a lot of files on your laptop and maybe you opened to much high CPU usage programs.

I have a gigabyte n650SLI-DS4L and c2q q830, Memory 2gig kingston and a Sparkle GeForce 9600 GT Problem: System restarts after 5-7 minutes of playing NBA 2k11, and other games. pls Help!

Motherboards usually will automatically shut down to prevent damage being done to the system if there is any, such as high temperature. In your case, it restarts when you are playing games, which take more power to process than other things. It seems like that your graphics adapter, CPU or something else might be overheating. You might need to consider upgrading some parts for better cool if overheating is the case.

The screen freezes and then restarts

Sounds like your CPU may be overheating after playing games for a long time and shutting itself off to prevent damage.

Screen goes blank for a few seconds, i get an error from vpu rec.

Hey,

I'm sorry the video card has a hardware problem, have you overclocked it?

the card froze and stoped responding to the commands from the driver. so it had to reset.

This can happen if the card is damaged, by overclock, or the clocks are too high, voltage too low or too high, this is all related to overclocking.

But this can also be caused by overheating.
