If you are using Windows Xp, just connect the modem using USB/LAN it will be automatically detected & software for it will be installed. Then you can just set up a connection, put in your username & password, done.
If you are using Windows Vista / Windows 7, modem in LAN mode will be installed automatically like XP, but not in USB mode. Because there's no USB driver for UT300R2U (BSNL modem) in Vista. You need to find a ZTE Remote NDIS device driver, install it & then you can connect. Hope this will fix your problem.
upgrade your windows xp, drivers are not required to use the router on your computer if you are using the windows xp.
or you should have a look at your lan drivers first
or if you are trying to connect your router using the usb cable, please try to update your usb drivers.
for drivers download
I'm not an expert in window based units but since it worked with Vista OS and not with XP. Sounds like you might try re-installing XP again. Take note on any windows that refer to the ethernet port during installation. It is likely you might of hit "next" without reading all the text. I know I have in the past. I changed over to mac and I know longer have any problems only at work but give then I give it to the IT Dept and wait and wait and wait.
