Browser keeps connection and reconencting...

My laptop, keeps connection and reconencting to the internet, the browser keeps loosing conection, and after a few minutes after refreshing it reconects... msn, and icq, and other chat applications stay connected, while the browser is lost, thats weird, can u help? I think its a computer problem, becuase i connected it by wi-fi, and then tried cable connection, i changed modems, and routers, and all still the same problem, i have other pc connected to my network with cable, and wi-fi, and they don't have a problem, so perhaps its a one computer problem the one I am using, please advise? thanks

You did mentioned that even after loosing connection with your explorer msn and other utilities work online. outlook express directly doesn't checks for the connectivity it goes via your browser only. Its always better to have a minimum of 3 browsers on your pc. It is not going to corrupt anything on your pc but it will deffinetly help you when you are unable to open one particular website through a particular browser. Or during any missing component through one browser. You can download google chrome and firefox. Both are faster and less prone to viruses. Since these browsers are not that much famous thats why those who make virus don't target these browsers. Happy and safe browsing. If this also does'nt solves your prob. Then I'll have to troubleshoot via a bit lengthy proceedure because connectivity depends upon many components.

Since your other PC's are working fine with your connectivity on the same connection. Hence it seems your OS is unable to handle the networking properly due to corrupt dll's. I'd suggest you to repair your Operating system. its easy just put your os cd inside the tray, restart your pc and first time when it gives repair option for the first time simply hit enter key. press 'R' key only on the second option which comes within seconds.

I could never have thaught about a virus effecting your virus because you told that other pc's on the network are working fine. If a virus damages a particular pc then why not other pc's thats why I left that issue. Anyways it always happens No one can say his knowledge is now saturated. Thanks for using fixya We'll try to help you better next time.

I don't understand. I can't get on the internet with my netbook because the wireless connection is gone. How can I get internet on it again.

Not familiar with netbook but when you say wireless connection is gone is it your provider, wireless modem/server or your ethernet card? Normally there is a troubleshooter on most laptops that will walk you through it to get you reconencted if you right click on the internet connection icon...

It could also be an issue of insufficient RAM resources or too many cookies or a Virus/Malware/Spyware. The conection freezes up and looses important work without saving it and it moves real slow. Had computer checked and was told it was the conection.can this be fixed or do i need an upgrade. loss of m

There maybe several explanations for the freeze ups,but I think the major one lies with your internet services connections.Whats the speed of the connection? How's the networks availability?Try this and see what happens:-
  • Uninstall and reinstall the browser[firefox]
  • Set firefox as the default browser. If still freezes;-
  • Choose another network for the internet connections.
Hope this helps.Thanks!

Wireless zero configuration is not activated

What are you using Internet Explorer? Anyway I would try using FireFox or some other browser to see if they can complete the downloads. Then if a different browser works the one you are using is faulty and needs to be reinstalled or use the other one as default. The zero configurator is to help you setup and find your wireless conections your router will also have a wireless configutator then the one that windows comes with make sure you know which one you are using.Go to network connections and internet connections, click, then right click on wireless connection, then properties and you should have a wireless tab check to see if the box that says use windows to configure my wireless conections is checked if you want windows to do it. If neither browser finishes downloads redo wireless setup. But I really think it is the browser.Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Go into your network settings and disable the ethernet and enable the wireless, you can also press Function F2 to enable wireless on a laptop. You may also try setting up wireless connection from the network settings if it still will not connect. Also you should be sure the network is not secured, and that your browser is told to never dial a connection.
