Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

All the text is appearing in a strange (to my eyes) script - as if the language used for the menus has changed to one that does not use the same alphabet as English. Incidentally, is this a free service?

Read the user's manual and goto the language settings. Then try one by one, your lost English will be restored. :-)

How to change fonts in Windows Notepad

Windows Notepad is a fairly basic text editor. It doesn't offer a lot in the way of extra features, but one thing it does have is the ability to use different fonts.<br /><br />By default, Notepad uses the Lucida Console font. However, you can change both the font and the text size, as well as use bold and italic styles. The only drawback is that the whole document must use the same settings, so if you change the font, it will apply to all of the text; you can't have only one word appear in bold, for example.<br /><br />To change the font in Notepad, open an existing text file or create a new one by clicking on the Notepad link on the Start menu (Start &gt; All Programs &gt; Accessories &gt; Notepad). On the menu bar, click Format, and from the drop down menu, select Font.<br /><br />On the left side of the Font window is a list of all of the fonts you can choose from. To see what a font will look like, click on it. The text in the sample box will change to reflect that font, giving you an idea of what the capital and lowercase letters will look like.<br /><br />You can also change the text style by selecting Italic, Bold, or Bold Italic. (Unfortunately, you can't underline in Notepad.) The text size can be changed by selecting a number from the list under the Size heading, or you can type in a value in the field above the list. To change the script (in order to use the lettering or symbols of another language) select one of the scripts from the Script list at the bottom of the window.<br /><br />Once you've made your selections, click OK to apply them. If you just want to exit out of the Font window without making changes, click Cancel.

How to Encode your VBS and JS files for secure website uploading

If you are still at Service Pack 2 then you can use Microsoft's own Script Encoder download it from HERE it's a command line version so after you have installed it you need to run the command prompt also make sure the Windows Scripting Host is started.

REMEMBER MAKE YOUR SCRIPTS "FOR YOUR EYES ONLY"

For both Visual Basic Scripts and JavaScript you will need to format the text in your script to look like this;

6036cf2.jpg

Replace your code goes here with your actual code when the encoder has been run then you will see that the <SCRIPT LANGUAGE= ********> will have changed to <SCRIPT LANGUAGE= ********.encode> and your code will be random characters.

The Syntax for the encoder from the command prompt is;

93a64e1.jpg

Recognized file extensions are .js and .vbs, which are changed to .jse and .vbe, respectively, after encoding, also these type of files can be decoded if you know what you are doing and therefore not totally hacker proof.

IF YOU HAVE SERVICE PACK 3 installed then this won't work at all so the best method is to use this VBS2EXE this is also a command prompt program you must make sure that the script that you want to convert is in the same root folder.

4f0fa54.jpg

When finished there will be a new file about 10 times larger then the script with the EXE file extension if you try to edit it all the code appears random this is the best method for encoding your scripts

If you want to do it ALL online and feel secure then you can do both VBS (VIsual Basic Script) and (JS) JavaScript using this website below but it is limited to 10kb per file

http://www.f2ko.de/ov2e/ov2e.html

If you create alot of batch files then I suggest that you also check out their BAT2EXE v1.5 this will convert CMD or BAT files into EXE files for web distribution you can also password protect and add a decompiler if required

I cant find language chancge on my acer laptop

Hi

Go to the control panel, click on the icon that looks like a globe; you have a drop down menu that will change to any language.

On a Windows Acer laptop, the display language is the language used to display text in wizards, dialog boxes, menus, support topics, Help menus and other components and interfaces. By default, your Acer laptop comes with a variety of display languages you can choose from if you are interested in changing the language. Alternatively, you can also install display languages.

Click the Windows "Start" menu, click the "Control Panel," click "Clock, Language, and Region," and then click "Regional and Language Options."

Click the "Keyboards and Languages" tab, and then select the language you want to use under "Display Language."

Click the "Install/Uninstall" button if you do not see the language you want to use. This launches the language installation wizard. Follow the guided prompts. If prompted, type your administrator password. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Unable to change state on my Garmin GPS

Check the text language. Press Tools, then press Settings, then press Language. If the text language is not set to American English it assumes you are not in the USA for some strange reason. Press the Text Language Name and press the up arrow until you find American English. Select it and it should be ok.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium in Italian. I want to change it to English. Is it possible?

Yes you need to install a language pack, he display language is the language that Windows uses in wizards, dialog boxes, menus, Help and Support topics, and other items in the user interface. Some display languages are installed by default, and others require you to install additional language files. When you change the display language, it is changed for your user account and is not changed on the Welcome screen. If you want to set the display language for multiple users or the Welcome screen, see Apply regional and language settings to reserved accounts.
  1. Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clickingControl Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options.
  2. Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.
  3. Under Display language, choose a language from the list, and then click OK.
gl_ico.png NoteIf you don't see the list of display languages, you need to install additional language files first. For more information, see Install a display language.
When you change the display language, the text in menus and dialog boxes for some programs might not be in the language that you want. This happens because the program might not support Unicode. For more information about changing the text in menus and dialog boxes for programs that do not support Unicode, see Change the system locale.

You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.
