SOURCE: The Picture is filled with rainbow colors

Hello Big Sav,

It sounds like you have a Convergence Correction IC problem. This problem happens quite often and is fixed by replacing the ICs and the biasing resistors. There are many articles on the Internet about how to do this yourself. Here is one:
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?p=564268#post564268

I should mention that, If you do not have a background in electronics you could do damage to your TV by performing this procedure. I you feel that you can not perform this procedure properly have a qualified technician perform it or have the board serviced at a TV repair shop that specializes in board repair.

I hope this helps,
Thank you,

SOURCE: distorted picture on RCA LCD TV

I have the same tv. Had repair man come to my home in late april. Said it is the power convergence board. $225 for parts and labor I was told. Bad thing is part was supposed to arrive mid-may,then mid-june and now mid-july. He say's part is on back order. I'm actually going to contact RCA soon to find out if this is true. This seems to be a common problem with this particular T.V

SOURCE: Tv pic has redbluegreen images pic distorted

This is a convergence problem that can be as simple as poor solder connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you feel that you want to attempt the repair yourself, please update this with that indication and additional details and instructions will follow. The parts for this repair will run about $40-$60.

Hi Lizzette,
I am afraid your problem is a little technical. Well if you know something about lcd tv technicals, the problem seems to be the T Con board and/or its connectors. Check the ribbon cables and connectors, clean them properly and and start the tv.If it is not possible or it does not work, please consult someone qualified to handle your set. Good luck.

Mitsubishi VS-55609 distorted Picture Flickers

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs. To get fixed either call in a local TV repair company or goto sites such as Tv Repair Kits to get a repair kit with instructions. Here is there link.

They have put together complete kits for most models that include the parts, step by step photo instructions, repair assistance, etc.

I have a Infocus Screen Play 5000 bulb has 324 hours the picture is light green.

try reflashing the firmware, check your cables by wiggling the ends coming out of the projector and watch the picture for any changes, if it goes to normal at any time, your cables are just worn out. if that doesn't do the trick, maybe your lcd polarizers are burnt, i really need a better description of the picture.

All DVD movies are bluish. How to adjust color to be natural?

if you are using component cables, check the cables for correct color configuration to your TV and from DVD Player.Example red to red green to green and blue to blue, if they check out,the possible problem might be a defective cable...

No longer plays color picture

Try the settings for "pal - ntsc - cvbs" video formats, if the tv and dvd aren't set the same, then this can cause the problem(usually with distortion to picture, depending on how it's mis-matched)

DVD won't play movies in color

RCA cable connectors (red, white, yellow) are usually for an analog setup. You could still use these for "component" setup, but know the difference with color stamps as follows:

Component color stamps are "blue, green, red" ( blue is marked Pb, green is marked Y, red is marked Pr)

RCA color stamps your using are "red, white, yellow"

Here are the proper hook up method for "Component" using your "RCA" connectors:

On both the TV and DVD component setup:

Plug the red RCA fitting in the component port marked "Pr (red)

Plug the white RCA fitting in the component port marked "Pb (blue)

Plug the yellow RCA fitting in the component port marked "Y (green)

Be sure this setup is the same for the TV's component input ports, and the DVD's component output ports.

i-Note:

For optimum picture quality you may want to purchase component cables as the gage is thicker giving better impedance match resulting in better picture and sound quality.

Green/Blue distorted Colors

Color issues are harder to solve without seeing the problem. It sound like the red amplifier on the crt board is bad. Is there any red in the picture at all? If not, that will be you problem
