Re: Cannot connect to xbox 360

Is your router being broadcasted so that everyone can see it? I'm not to familiar with xbox's but do they have their own MAC addresses?

How do i find out my wpa/ wep key for my xbox 360 to configure the wireless connection ?

The WEP/WPA encryption key is configured in the wireless settings of the wireless router. Go into your router's wireless settings to get this encryption key and the SSID, note these settings you need to configure the Xbox 360 with these settings.

I have a Cayman 3347w wireless router and I am trying to use one of the wired slots to connect my xbox 360 to the internet. the xbox will not connect. is this router xbox compatable?

Please try the following steps below;

To make a router connection to Xbox LIVE:
  1. Before you connect any cables, turn off your router, modem, PC, and Xbox 360 console. (Unplug your modem from its power source to turn it off.)
  2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your modem and the other end to the Ethernet input port on the back of your router.
  3. With another Ethernet cable, connect one end to one of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the other end to your PC's Ethernet port.
  4. With the third Ethernet cable, connect one end to another of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox 360 console.
  5. Turn on your modem, then your router, then your PC.
  6. Make sure your PC can access the Internet. If not, you may need to configure the router for Internet access. For help configuring the router using your PC, check the instructions that came with the router.
  7. Turn on your Xbox 360 console and sign in with your profile.
  8. If this is the first time you've turned on your Xbox 360 console, see Create Your Gamer Profile to get started with both the Xbox 360 system and Xbox LIVE play.
If you're unable to connect to Xbox LIVE, you can try to diagnose the problem right on your console. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings, then select Network Settings (setup XBOX using Automatic Configuration DHCP), Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

Hope this helps!

Have laptop with internet but want to share it with xboxs

Yes, simply set up laptop as a mini server (Wireless) at the other end of the house (Where the Xboxes are) and ensure it has the WEP key installed when asked to access the router / internet. Buy a router adapter for each Xbox 360 that connects to them in the RJ45 slot and connect thru the laptop agian using the WEP key that you should have installed in the Router.

Belkin G+ MIMO router kicks my 360 (wired directly to router) and my laptop (of course, wireless) off of the network at random times, its incredibly bothersome and i'd like it solved

that happens alot when one or more device (for instance, the xbox 360 and a cpu) are trying to use the same ip address make sure you have the xbox 360 and all other devices (cpu's/printers) that are connected to the router set to aquire ip address automatically

My wireless XBOX 360 says ''not connected'' when I test XBOX LIVE

in this case you need to do a port forwarding, which is something like opening the specific ports on router so that xbox will communicate with internet
for that we need to know the ip address of xbox and port numbers for microsoft for knowing the port numbers and their range,so we can do a port forwarding on your router

My Xbox 360 Says No Wireless Network, 192.168 takes me to!

I believe you are referring to the network key set on the Belkinrouter. Since you do not have the code, you will have to access yourrouter's web interface.

Let's begin with your router:

Using your working laptop, open Internet Explorer type (default IP address of Belkin routers) press Enter. It will ask for a username and password - by default it'sadmin for both. If it does not accept admin, type in the username andpassword you set to your router when you installed it for the firsttime.

Once you open the setup page of the router, go to the Wireless tab ofthe router (located on the left side of the web interface. Look forSSID and WEP key or Network key (SSID is the name of your wireless network). Take note of the SSID and WEP keybecause you will need to set this on the XBOX console.

On the XBOX:

Open the dashboard settings - select Network Settings. Configure your XBOX to connect to your wireless network. When it ask for the network key - type in the code that you will see on the router's web interface.

Try the steps I mentioned, give us an update and I'll reply ASAP if you need further assistance.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Att 2wire wireless and dlink

the only thing you need for connecting 360 to wireless is an Internet connection, an 802.11G wireless router, and a wifi adapter that connects to your 360. They have these at walmart or any gaming store. I suggest giving your 2-Wire back to ATT! NOT QUALITY. Especially for gaming.
I myself prefer my box to be hard wired as lag is far less. BUT..for wifi
Get a Linksys Router and XBox brand wifi adapter for 360. Also google xbox connect. Instead of paying for LIVE
