Ok I tried that and i got an error message that said access to this file/directory has been denied by the phone's provider and before that it said failed to list files in directory.

  • tjohnson192 Jul 12, 2009

It also didnt list anything on the right hand side (like folders) only the main ones like the file system on the left were listed

  • tjohnson192 Jul 12, 2009

when you say directory... do you mean the like the media file on the left hand side?

  • tjohnson192 Jul 12, 2009

On the log, it writing file and then it says now in brew mode and then access denied

  • tjohnson192 Jul 12, 2009

No, it doesnt have a memory card...

The listed files under phone are phone book, media, calendar, todo, memo, sms, call history, play list, and t9 editor but nothing is listed in the middle screen under the + sign

  • tjohnson192 Jul 12, 2009

    Yes, it is

  • tjohnson192 Jul 12, 2009

Unlike the screenshot, my filesystem does not open up and put the file/directory on the second and 3rd column...

I do have internet access on my phone ...should I load the file to an email and then open the email link in my phone?...I'm not sure what the process would be.

My computer doesnt have bluetooth and it runs on windows vista

Sorry, you have been extremely helpful but I am starting from ground zero in knowledge :)

After connecting bitpim to your phone, you will see a button on the left hand side of the screen that says "Filesystem". Click that, then look to the center of your screen. You will see a folder with a + on the left side of the folder, click the "+". Next it will display many folders.

Try dragging and dropping the jar file into the phone into your memory card(folder ..mmc.. or sd or) or directly into the phones folders.

    wrong directory try another one.

  • Ekse Jul 12, 2009

In the phone, try another folder / directory, do you have a memory card on the phone? you should see the memory card on the list, try placing it there, or if you have a memory card reader you could put the program on the memory card and that way put it on the phone,

  • Ekse Jul 12, 2009

is it a Sanyo Katana II?

  • Ekse Jul 12, 2009

I see the phone also has BlueTooth, you could if your computer has BlueTooth, you could beem the file over wirelessly/bluetooth.

Or if you have internet access on the phone you could put the file online and then download it.

If those two are not a option, I'll look into bitpim a little more, we could even do a remote support session and I could look into it later.

  • Ekse Jul 12, 2009

Do you have this on your bitpim?

  • Ekse Jul 12, 2009

Alright we can do two things

    1. you can try emailing it to yourself and try opening it on the phone Or
    2. email me the file and I will put it on a webpage for you so you can open it with your phone. My email is nikoht@gmail.com

I can't open .jar/.jad files in my tab GT P1000

Jad & .Jar are usually associated with games/application files To open a .Jad you could use notepad to see what it contains.. the file itself acts like an address page for the .Jad to unload into the correct places withing a Java program .
JAR (Java Archive) and JAD (Joint Application Development) files are packaged
files containing games and applications that can be unpacked onto your cell
phone with the use of a personal computer. Unlike similar files used by
smart phones, JARs and JADs are used on older and cheaper phones since the file
size is always small and can be easily extracted in order to load a game or
application.
  1. Attach the Tab/phone to your computer with its USB cable.
  2. Click and drag the JAR or JAD files to the root (starting) directory of your Tab/phone. On some phones, you need to instead move these to a games or apps folder.
  3. unplug the USB cable from the phone and the computer.
  4. navigate to the "Applications" or "Games" directory on the phone, where you will see the JAR or JAD file.
  5. Select the option to run or install the file. The application will be on your Tab/phone and ready for use..

Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up for me to continue for Helping out the

Hello,

Try getjar.com.

Specifically .jar files are for applications to be run on your mobile. Websites like getjar.com has a whole lot of collections for skype and many other such siftwares.

Pls save the .jar files on your computer and then transfer them to your mobile using usb cord.
Once transferred. Using your mobile click on those .jar file and you will see a installation window.
Do note that the .jar files are specific to the mobile handset you will not be able to use any other mobile's .jar files.

Hope this will work.

Pls take your time and rate me for my free suggestion.

Application installation problem

Hi balaje, You should transfer jar file to your phone's Other folder. From there, click on 'Install' from your phone.
Still if it is not working, then there must be some problem with that application.
Thanks
