Flashers stay on when riding but work at tickover.

I have just fitted some LED rear indicators (with resistors) and some new smaller (filament type) to the front of my '97 Fatboy.

When the engine isn't running, they work perfectly.
With the engine on tick over they work perfectly.
When I rev the engine (standing still or riding along) they stop flashing and stay on.

I assume this must be to do with the wrong reistance to the circuit when the power in the battery is increased?

Am I right...any suggestions as to how to test and cure.

Your battery will be charged at a lower rate as the revs rise, you will need the final output rate to get an idea of what value the resister you will need to change it to, as a rule your indicator relay should be rate at 21w+ 21w now if your indicaters are flashing at higher flash rate then you will need to increase the resister rate and the opposite to make it speed up. what values you need will depend on what resister you already have , match it on a chart and then replace with next value until you get thew right flsh rate. as votage increases resistence increases.

Where is the indicator fuse on a 2007 Nissan Navara D40

Test the bulbs with a meter. Fast flashing is indicative of load missing from the circuit. When bulbs are in use the filaments become brittle. My guess is that when you took them out and tossed them the filaments broke. If the indicators are flashing then it isn't the fuse.

I have a renault clio 2003 plate , my indicators are playing up , the left incator is permently and wont indicator right nor will it cancel left indicator, right indicator only work when hazard is on

I would check that you have the correct bulbs fitted in the indicators, especially the rear ones as it is common for people to fit the wrong bulbs, which could be single contact single filament, or double contact single filament, or double contact double filament. There are quite a lot of bulbs that will fit in the same size holder but might not be right for the car. Other than that you will have to look for wires that are shorting out, also probably in the boot. Unfortunately when you purchase a Renault car, wiring problems are built in, apart from bits of plastic you will undoubtedly find on the floor and never find where they came from.

Tail lights don't work but 4 way flashers still work. Changed the fuse twice but it burns out. what might be wrong.

You have a bad short somewhere in the circut that the fuse applies to. I'd guess it is in the taillight printed circut film, or connection and or the ground wire connecting the film to the frame.

Rear hazard flashers don't work 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier

Hazard flasher power comes from the 20A S/LP fuse in the fuse block. It is applied to the hazard flasher in the convenience center. Flasher output is applied to the turn/hazard/headlight SWITCH assembly where activation of the HAZARD switch causes flashing power to be applied to the turn indicators and the turn filaments of the front and rear dual park/turn lights. If replacing the fuse doesn't work, trace the power through the circuit. Check for misssing/disconnected ground wires.

Hi now knowing what the bike is, simply remove the relay bridge the 2wires and using the switch select left or right it wont flash but it will elimenate the relay if the indicators light as selected the circuit is working correctly andt the relay is faulty, have you tried disconecting the rear indicators, and check if the front ones opperate as normal left when selected and right when selected obviously they wont flash but this will elimenate any short circuit in the rear wireing, do you have a multimeter? Disconect all the indicators, and the switch and flasher relay, with the ignition turned off check for continuaty between the live feed from the front left indicator and the rear right indicator, this will elimenate a short circuit in the live wires you should have no
continuaty then check its not going to earth, check between front indicators live, and rear earths you should have no connection reconnect the relay and do the same test

the thing that controls your indicators should make a clicking sound when they are turned on, try changing your bulbs back to the stock lights, if that makes no difference replace your unit :)

Indicators running to fast. new relay fitted but didnt solve problem

Sounds like you have installed LED turn signals in place of the original incandescent ones.

You will need to install resistors in line with each LED turn signal to slow the flashing down back to normal.
"Trackside" products makes a load equalizing resistor for use with LED turn signals.
