Question about Western Digital Caviar SE16 (WD5000AAKS) 500 GB SATA Hard Drive
I am installing a new SATA drive to my PC. I have two SATA interface cards and getting the same problem. Windows says the device is working properly, but the dive is not seen by the analyzer and not feeling the disk turning in there. This is really a 320 gig HD not the 500. only option I had..
First enable the hard drive in bios if you havent already .Then if you have windows xp click right on my computer and select manage,it opens up computer mangement, then go to the tab called storage and on the sub menu of storage click disk management . You should see you 2nd/other hard drive (labelled disk 1 at the bottom if it is the second hard drive) make sure its your 2nd HDD ( Look at capacity in properties by clicking right on it) .Click right on the 2nd hard drive and select format press ok when the new window comes up and its finished.
