Question about Brother IntelliFAX 1570MC Plain Paper Fax
We had a used Pitney Bowes 9720 fax machine donated to our school and cannot use it because it asks for an access code and we do not know what that code is. I checked with the company that donated it to us and they guessed that it was all 0's or all 1's, but that didn't seem to work. Can you please help us?
What worked for me was following the above procedure step by step until the part where it says to press 1 to clear the count. After pressing 146, I pressed the YES button, and that brought up a screen asking me to confirm resetting the filter count. Agree and press stop to exit the whole process. This cleared the message for me.

I,too have a pitney bowes 9720, and when it asked for the access code, found that 9720 worked. When I start it up the date code on it was always jan 01 '00, and when I was done, I would shut it off. Recently, I left it on for a while. Yesterday, I turned it on to do some copying and send some faxes, and the date code was mar xx '00, and it wouldn't take the default code. I got to looking at it, and there is a reference to a ni-cad battery at the power cord. I got to looking, and found it on the left side under the panel where the handset is (same side as the modem). The battery on mine is green, about the size of two button batteries stacked, and is located on the very bottom of the large circuit board, just forward of center. Remove it, and it reverts to the default access code. Now if I can just find the manual again...
