1) Always post the brand and hopefully the model number in a hardware query.

2) I suspect you have changed the "source" and are not looking at a Digital TV signal. By source, I am referring to AV, Digital,
Component, etc.. The TV would not be responding to the Remote possibly because you have set the remote to not work with a TV but with the video player. Press "TV" on the remote while pointing it at the TV, then try to change the channel.

3) The "Making Life Easy" has to be connected with a brand of either the TV or the DVD player (or accessory device). If it is the logo of the player, you simply do not have the TV set up to receive a digital TV signal but rather the signal from the player.

I do not know if this is because you have cabled the two together wrongly or done what I refer to in my second point above. If it is because the cables are in the wrong sockets, your setup manual may help (or just give you a headache.)

4) At some point, I might have tried to see if just running the outside TV cable to the TV, not through a DVD player or device, would make a difference IF I disconnected all the cables to the DVD player first. That might eliminate the TV as the source of the problem.

5) the Good news is that this sounds likely either a wrong setting or misplaced cables, both which are fixable.

6) IF you do not have the setup or user manuals, you can go to the brand site on the web and search for using the model number and the site may have manuals which can be downloaded. If not, the manuals may be googled for using the brand name and model number and "user manual" in a single search. The brand site may even have some additional support service.

Dont have a remote and can't hide the subtitles

Ms. Padilla, you need to enter the menu settings in your television, should be a menu button on you tv set. Once in menu go to picture or scroll through the menus untill you find caption, once you locate that you can turn the subtitles off.

Ive just bought this tv and when i turn it on the stand by light is flashing but i cant turn the tv on please can you help?

This shouldn't happen. When the standby light is flashing there is a problem with the television and it needs servicing. It could be the main board, the power supply, or both. This is a costly repair when a television is not in warranty. Now there are times when a television has to be turned on from the power button located on the top or side of it when first being unboxed. At a time like that the remote control will not work to power on the television. I don't believe that is the problem you are experiencing.

The troubleshooting for this is to unplug the television overnight and when you plug it back in the next day wait for the standby light to start flashing. Hold down the power button on the television set itself. Wait and see if the standby light stops flashing and turns red (or a different color). Let go of the power button. Press it once more and release it once more. The television should come on.

Even if the above works you don't want to risk something really being wrong with the television and a costly repair being needed after the warranty expires.

Hi i have MAXENT TV 50" plasma im loking for dish network remonte code to program on it please help

We show no codes listed for Maxent televisions. The best method for programming this remote is called a Power Scan, the steps are below:
Power Scan
1.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, then press 500 pound ( #)
2.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, press the big power button once.
3.) Press the channel up button once per second until the TV turns off then press pound (#).

I cant figure out which button is for the code search on this remote

It should be channel up button. Just keep pressing it, allowing 3 seconds in between presses. Once your television turns off, you have found the code. Then press enter, and try turning your television back on. (Note: not all televisions will power down. Some may only change the channel)

I have a toshiba tv with a broken power button

Generally the power button has to be on first to put the TV in standby mode. If you cant do this no remote can ever work. Remotes are not capable of turning on a set that has no power mechanically turned off. and that is what the master switch does. once that standby light is off it is not live and consuming power and not under the control of a remote anymore

Taper proof button was accidently set on the remote..cant shut t.v off..change channels, turn volume up or down. please help

We really need the model number of your tv (or remote if the remote didn't come with the tv) to help the best.
Are you sure there IS a tamper proof button?
You could try removing the batteries from the remote and at the same time, unplug the tv for a while. This may reset everything.

NOTE: If this answers your question, PLEASE GIVE ME A GOOD RATING! Thanks!

Av1 icon stays on

On the top left hand corner of your remote is a button with the letter i on it and a green query mark beside it. Press it once and the AV1 icon should disappear. Took me ages to find this out, so you're not alone...
