As soon as the computer is powered on, the monitor says No Input Signal and says "Monitor Going to Sleep"

  • Anonymous Feb 19, 2008

My computer, HP Pavilion a475c, was frozen up for some reasons. It never comes back alive after rebooting. The only message shown on the monitor is "going to sleep". The lights of power button, hard drive, DVD drive are on but not keyboard. The cooling fan is still running. What's problem? Thanks.

(if you have an orange light) Turn off your computer and unplug all of your devices, printer, scanner etc... Only your monitor, mouse, keybord and monitor should be connected. Now turn on your computer. It should work now. You can attach your other devices if you are successful.

Works when it wants to then turns whie with grey line in it

Hi

If only the monitor is going to sleep, then it could be a problem with the connection from the monitor to the computer or with the cable.

If the computer goes to sleep and if you are not able to wake it from sleep then check the sleep mode settings and also the power management settings for the keyboard and mouse.
You may also do a system restore if you are not able to wake the computer from sleep.
