Question about Oakley Cycling

Open Question

Nose piece is to wide

I bought M frame oakleys, and they did not give me the right reciept. When i got home i found that the bridge between the two eyes was very wide. In my exitement i did not notice that the nose piece was barely touching my nose. The tightness of the frame gave the illusion of a secure fit. I do not want to go through the hastle of figuring out this problem and help would be much appreciated. Oakley, M frame Sunglasses, Heater lenses, Black idruim polorized.

SOURCE: How can you tell the difference between real

On any pair of fakes, the "Oakley" name on the lenses will be screen printed in white, and sometimes not centered correctly. Real ones have it etched on them.

SOURCE: Hi, I got my new

oakley always greases their hinges. it's possible they missed one. you could even try to loosen the screw the smallest bit or, take it to a eye glass repair place and they could take it apart all together and and a small amount of grease for you. i doubt they would even charge you for something so simple to them. couldn't hurt to try. if you don't notice anything cracked or abnormal otherwise, i'd say thats all you need to fully enjoy the sweet shades :D
hope this helps

Hello,
Did the crosshairs work for your wardens? I'm in the same boat, can't find an actual warden replacement kit for the earsocks. A follow up story to this would be really helpful. Thanks

SOURCE: Can you put prescription lenses into sunglasses

It may not be possible to fit the thicker prescription lenses into the thinner Oakley frames and have them stay there reliably. You will have to ask.

Having said that, prescription sunglass lenses are quite commonly made as you know, and you can also get the phototropic type that darken when outdoors (although that type will not darken down inside a car).

My oakley sunglass lenses are peeling on the outside

I would be interest as to where you bought your oakleys,or if you bought after market lens. If you bought the oakleys new from a oakley store TAKE THEM BACK FOR WARRANTY. If they were purchased off a site or second hand they may be knockoffs. The oakley lenses are one piece and shouldn't peel at all and if they are will be covered by warranty. If the lens were purchased after market and aren't real oakley prodocts they may have a plastic film that needs to be peeled off. This is something i've seen on knock off oakley orkrs

Is there anyway to tighten or slightly adjust oakley frogskins

You'll need to send it in to Oakley for the "Juliet Service". Call the 800 number and they will get you setup. Last time i had it done it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $60.00. But they redo the rubber in the nose bridge (you need a special tool), replace the nose bombs, temple shox, and ear socks. So for the price of the replacement rubber kit, you get a full service. The glasses come back feeling like new.

How to replace the lenses for oakley spike

I did the following... step by step, if you have any questions, please ask. - I placed the sunglasses perpendicular to me. One if the lenses will be close to you, while the other should be farther away.
-I grabbed the farthest lens from your body with both hands. Placing your left had on the left side and your right and on the right side. One had is on the bottom of the lens, while the other is on the top of the lens. It does not matter which hand is on the bottom or top.
-I grabbed the top and bottom of the frame, pulling away from the lens. At the same time I pushed with my fingers (that should be on the inside of the lenses) and pressed the lens out (on the lens closest to the nose pieces). You will hear a very faint "pop" when the lens clears the frame.
-Then slide the lens out by grabbing the part that is out of the frame that is close to the nose piece
-To put the new ones in, position the sunglasses the same way and put the replacement lens in the sunglasses, starting with the edge near the ear pieces.
-Pull the top and bottom of the frame out and push the replacement lens into place.
If you have any questions, please ask. If I can clarify anywhere, let me know.
Good luck.
And once you do this, could you please leave me feedback and vote on my answer?
Thank you very much,
Lori

Can you put prescription lenses into sunglasses frames? I have to get my eyes checked in about two weeks and I've gotten the use out of my current pair of glasses so I'm pushing to get new glasses. My...

Yes it is possible.. Oakley makes RX lenses specifically for some of the frames. the previous poster makes some invalid points in terms of what you are talking about. Oakley makes many more frames than just "sporty" frames that fit tight to your head. Oakley glasses are held onto your head by the shape AND by the hydrophilic rubber pieces (called Unobatnium) in glasses that are less wrapped. You mentioned that these looked like Rx Frames / regular glasses frames. Please note, Oakley makes RX frames, as well.

If you go to Oakley's website and look under Rx Sunglasses, you'll see which can be made with prescription lenses, AND ones that you can have an Optometrist cut regular lenses to fit.

However, please note, many Opticians, have lab do their cutting work and some labs will NOT cut for an Oakley frame. If your eye doc allows you to take him a frame, then he should be able to have it cut. It depends on the lab. It may be easier to find a Optometrist with his won lab on site. Those are places that will custom cut.
Of course, if you, as the previous poster stated, do go with a very sunsglasses / sport model, you'll need to stick with the Oakley specific sport sunglasses lens as the lense curvature may be hard to match.
