Which laptop should i go for ??

I am having two options either hp or dell.
they both are costing me the same but dell is providing me with a better processor ie, 2.66 GHz with 6Mb cache whereas hp is giving 2.40 GHz with 3MB cache.
but considering the looks, hp is much much better and also gives us good accessories like touch pad and fingure print locking.
the notebooks are,
dell-customized studio 15
hp-pavilion dv6 1154
i need it on the basis of enginering. so kindly help me in taking the right decision.

I personally have never had a problem with either manufacturer. i am typing on an HP computer right now and at work, we use exclusively Dell (due to our corporate discount via a parent company). I would go with the faster processor if you are not concerned with the cosmetic appeal of the computer. Remember, bumper stickers and decals don't make your car perform better!!

How do I download a recovery disk free for an acer aspire 5920?

You most likely can't. OEM system builders...HP, Acer, Lenov, DELL usually don't provide a recovery disk with their laptops so they can charge you later when you need it. This is done to keep their costs down and increase profit.

Most cases, when you got your new laptop, there were instructions to "Create Recovery discs". But 99% of most users never do.

Result: you will need to call Acer and order the recovery discs or see if anyone has them on ebay/craigslist cheaper. Acer is best bet, so you don't end up with wrong or non-working discs and prolong your problem. Should be about $25-50 including shipping.

Broken (cracked) right Hinge on HP nc 4000 and Dell D600 Laptops

You can get replacement parts for this laptop, however it can get expensive. At the end of the day, you can use a super glue that is safe to use around electrical parts, but you might be better off just using an external monitor if you don't need to carry your laptop around.

Dell laptop(Vostro) compared to HP DV 4 or 5

HP make good laptops, remember they use alot of similar components to make their machines work, the ram, processor and drives, are usually manufactured by the same company, or at least very similarly made. The choice really comes down to the motherboard, and the various ports on the laptop, just remember that 1 gig of ram isn't going to see vista really run, so opt for xp if you can, if you get 2 gigs, vista is fine. The choice is yours, but ultimately you need to decide what you'll be doing with it, and base your choice on that. It does seem though that dell has a more solid, reliable architechture than hp. Hope that helps!

I want to buy a good laptop... I'm unable to decide between two laptops i.e. Dell XPS M1530 and Sony VAIO CS18GN Laptop.... The problem is Dell XPS M1530 screen, if we see it little bit cross the screen...

The answer to this will always depend on who you ask! If this helps I am on my 5th Sony VAIO. I bought my first in 1999 (it was a N505). I have always had excellent performance and reliability from my Sony kit even though it sometimes doen't look the best technically on paper. I have several collegues who have dabbled with Dell equipment and have had poor customer service and reliability problems and have switched to either HP or Sony. This is just my observation and experience...

HP laptop model dv2000 will turn on, but nothing comes on the screen.

Video card dead, sorry to say. They are part of the system board so are not replaceable. Common problem with HP Pavs. Replace the machine with either a new Toshiba or more expensive Dell range or buy a laptop 3 or4 years old as the build quality was so much better
