I have the 7410xi installed as both wireless and usb connected. How do I get the solution center to recognize the wireless printer?

Make sure you do not have it plugged in before you start the install. Also for the next install attempt, plug the cable in to a different USB port than the one you;ve previously tried.

I used the same web release driver, but I don't think it supports wifi. The driver works just fine if you connect via usb and then run the printer install wizard in control panel, but you need some other software to recognize it wirelessly. Also, go into setup on the printer display and make sure that you've connected to your wireless network. That may be your problem.

It sounds like an expensive solution, but you'll have to replace the internal port which is probably the system board. Better to buy another printer.

It's possible that the problem is with the USB port on the printer. If you have a router, you can try to connect your printer using an ethernet cable so you won't have to configure your printer using a USB cable.

Once you have connected the printer using an ethernet cable, proceed with the installation in your computer and choose ethernet as the connection type. It should automatically find the printer on your network.

If you are scanning documents to edit or save as PDF file, you will need to install the OCR scan software on your computer. The Lexmark OCR scan software is available only on the installation disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center to request for one.
If scanning from your printer to your computer was working previously, then it could be just a slight communication problem. A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected) > reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to scan again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection (if USB connected). If printer is connected wireless, wait until the WiFi light on the printer turns on solid green before trying to scan a document.

How do i connect an hp officejet printer to a wireless laptop
Download and install the drivers & software necessary for your printer from HP's website (www.hp.com) on your laptop. After the software and/or drivers are installed, connect the printer to the laptop with a usb cable. As long as the software is installed the pc should recognize the printer as soon as the usb cable is connected. Then just print as normal.

Download the drivers from here

Turn off the printer, install the drivers and switch printer on when told by the driver installation to connect printer.

If the printer itself is wireless, it does not need to recognize your wireless computer network. Call Lexmark to walk you through proper installation. Lexmark's manuals are not adequate regarding setup, in my opinion.

HP Photosmart C7280 wireless connection
My experience is different. My DSL router died in the night and I had to install the old one. I just changed the wireless settings on my C7280, and now all three connections work. If no wire (ethernet or USB) is connected, the wireless connection works. If the Ethernet cable is connected, it works via Ethernet, and if the USB cable is connected, it works via USB. It seems to default in that order.
