Why wont my takeuchi backhoe not start when it is hot?

Most likely a fuel filter.

indicates air in the pump
very slow leak to allow pump pressure to drop to a point where it starts but then the supply is below requirement until the continued cranking removes the air and then the engine starts and runs

So is this a car backhoe or a truck backhoe?

Pressure valve? does it only do it to only one side? Left or right. The reason you move both tracks with the bucket running is because you relieve pressure. One side is free wheeling, As they call it. I work on cars, But also have done to many hydraulic components. You have a pressure control valve that is bad.

Transmissions will be over full when not running. And the torque converter won't lock up the engine In neutral. Not sure about backhoes, but if you have a TCC switch. It will only kill the engine in gear. wheels on the ground.

It depends a little on what the temperature is outside. I think I normally run a 10w in my backhoe.
