If your audio system is displaying protection, unplug from the wall and then unhook the speakers from it. Plug it back in and power it on. If you still see that error then there is a problem with a component inside. If the error is gone, you can put each speaker back on one at a time to see which one is causing the problem.

SOURCE: sony home theater system started blinking protect

Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

SOURCE: How to extend speaker cables of Philips MX6050D DVD Home Theater

Go down to your local RadioShack or any place that sells wire of any sorts (heck, even Walmart might carry it now) and ask them for speaker wire. I'm not sure what the impedance of this particular model is, but you should be able to find it printed on the back of the speakers, or in your user's manual. This guide will help you to identify what size speaker wires you need, that way when you go in looking for speaker wire, you'll at least sound like you know what you're doing.

Wat is s- protection on my lg home theater systerm

I'm not sure what specific LG home theater system you are referring to, but "S-Protect" is a feature found on some LG home theater systems that is designed to protect the system from damage due to power fluctuations or speaker wire issues. When the system detects a potential problem, it will automatically shut down to prevent further damage.

Can i attach backup device to my lg HT356SD?

I would say yes, from what the manual says, the LG HT356SD has some Unique Features:

#1 Portable In : Listens to music from your portable device.
(MP3, Notebook, etc)

#2 USB Direct Recording : Records music from CD to your USB device.

Read the manual, on page 26 it will show you how to do it, I found it at www.theatresystem-manual.com under lg, or go directly to the link I provided.

http://www.theatresystem-manual.com/manuals/lg/LG_HT356SD.pdf

Recording to USB
1. Connect the USB device to the unit.
2. Select a DVD/ CD function by pressing
FUNCTION.
One track recording - You can record to USB after
playing the file you want.
All tracks recording - You can record to USB after
stop.
Program list recording - After showing the
programmed list, you can record it to USB.
3. Start the recording by pressing X REC.
4. To stop recording, press Z STOP.

Protection Message

Protection mode is a shutdown to protect the circuits on the amplifier. This will come on if the speaker wires are shorted or if their is a lot of DUST on the inside of your machine. On some machines, protection mode will come on if one of the speakers is open (breaks). What I would do is check the earphone jack on the tv. Put a headset in and see if that works. Last resort is purchase a can of air duster.

The home theatre system LG HT904TA went in to protection mode. Mean that the receiver/dvd panel shown 'protection ' on the display panel. I have try to switch off /on but the 'protection...

If you've disconnected the speakers and the fault is still showing then the fault is internal with the Amplifier and it's shutting down to protect itself from further damage.

Your only solution is to remove the cover and have a look at repairing it yourself or take it to a repair shop.
