I have a Model 155w Altazimuth Refracting Telescope. It will not mount on the tripod. I believe I am missing a piece, but I don't knoe which one.

There should be a screw hole in the bottom of the tube and or two screw holes one on each side of the tube.

In the first example all you need is a photo tripod and screw the tube on it-- in the second you are missing the "fork arms that attach to the telescope -- like this picture:

Can't see anything and don't know which end is which.

You must have a REFLECTOR style scope with a MIRROR in the bottom. The focuser end is the UP end -- the mirror is on the GROUND end.

You probably have it mounted backwards.

It should look like this:

What would be the prefered age group for the 784501 bushnell telescope,.......in other words,,is it a kiddie telescope, or good for 30 yr old?

This is a 4.5 inch REFLECTOR on a shaky Equatorial mount. The mount must be polar aligned on the star Polaris in order to be used.

We usually recommend the telescope shown below for beginners of all ages--

for kids the 4.5 inch

for adults the 6- 8 inch version

I recently bought a used bushnell reflector telescope that is missing a tripod mounting bracket and screw, can you please tell me where i can find one?

You cannot find parts for that very low cost telescope. You can buy a tripod but the cost will probably be more than you paid for the scope.

Here are tripods:

Next time do not waste your money on these types of telescopes. Instead save up and buy something like this:

You can probably make one if you knew the "pin" connections- contact Bushnell for help at this web site:

I need a Bushnell Deep Space Series 420x60mmRefractor Telescope

DO NOT buy a Bushnell telescope! These are considered "toy" telescopes and are usually not suitable for Astronomy.

Instead buy a Dobsonian telescope like this one:
http://www.telescope.com/control/product/~category_id=classicdobs/~pcategory=dobsonians/~product_id=08942

You cannot buy a useable telescope for less than about $200.
