SOURCE: Loose white wire in B&D 7190 Type 2

If you look at the switch you will see a hole with a brass coloured contact inside. These are grip type connector where you push the wire in and it grips it. Try pushing the wire into the hole and see if you can pull it out again gently. If it holds you have fixed it.

SOURCE: When replacing cord on black & decker 7190

If you look at the trigger/switch mechanism, you'll note little lettered ovals on either side at the bottom/base where the wires go. The black (hot) wire from the plug goes to the side stamped "LINE", and the white (neutral) wire goes to the side stamped "LOAD"

What part of the forward and reverse switch is loose on a B&D corded drill Dr560.

What to do next, find your receipt and take it back to where you purchased it and get another one. Make sure the new one works right before you leave the desk of store.

Charged but still won't run

Hi Carolyn:
I'd try pushing the Forward/Reverse switch back and forth a bunch of times. Also squeeze the trigger repeatedly.
If it doesn't start working then I'd be taking it apart and checking the switches and wires for continuity with a meter.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, and
Happy New Year.

Motor operates but drill has no power forward, only reverse.

you have a problem with the switch or the reversing lever. If you go to take it apart use caution that you do not disassemble the gear mechanism, you can find a breakdown and buy parts from them direct or they also have a locator at makitausa.com. I would look at the breakdown before trying to disassemble.

I have a milwaukee cordless v18 drill. It stopped suddenly when I accidently drilled into a bolt. Its a cool tool and I would like to fix it. How?

Some of these cordless drills have a reset on them in case you over power them like you when accidentally hit a bolt. This reset is the same principle as a fuse in your electrical panel, that pops when overloaded. Look in your owners manual also take a good look at your drill, it will be a very small button. I have one on my makita just at the top of the grip, it just pops out so just push back in.
If you don't have a reset it is probably a wire that has fried (like burned out and separated). If you like fixing things, take it apart and inspect the wiring and the switch. I hope this helps you out a bit. Best regards and good luck. I will gladly answer any questions.

How do I fix a 1995 buick park avenues front seat motors?

I had that problem with the motor for seat back tilt.
I had to remove the seat and take the cables out of the motor and connect the drive cables to 2 drills one in forward and one in reverse. I lubricated the threaded shafts and the drive unit with WD40 then ran the drills back and forward till it started moving again. then I lubed again with more wd40 and ran seat back all the way forward and back many times. reassembled and tested the motor by connecting 12 volt cordless drill batery to the motor to verify it is now working.
The problem that I am now having is no power to the drivers side and do have power on pasenger side, think they are the same fuse. Need schmatic/wire diagram to continue my trouble shooting . This should help with yours. test each motor with the cordless drill battery. reverse polarity to reverse direction.

Assuming that it's within 2 yrs old, you can phone Hilti re getting it fixed under warrenty. Hilti has a warranty that covers wear and tear on the tool body for 2 yrs (batteries for 1 yr) - hope you didn't already know this...

Makita 14.4v wont work in forward

I would suggest going to the Makita site and downloading a breakdown for this tool first. The switch replacement is not that difficult to do. If you are comfortable with taking the tool apart to look for debris (possibly pieces of fan) that would restrict movement. Sometimes if it breaks pieces get behing the trigger and won't allow it to shift, if it is broken you need a new motor. Pay close atttention to the wiring it is polarity sensitive and if nott rewired correctly will burn up a new switch. Hope this helps but like I said it is not that a major repair if you just take your time and watch how things come apart.
