Question about Microwave Ovens
Hi. I've got a GE model JVM1650CB006 over-the-stove microwave which just started making a very loud grinding noise, perhaps associated with its turntable? At first, the noise stopped when I opened and closed the door, which would stop the microwave for a couple of seconds. A few days later, however, stopping and starting it no longer stopped the noise. The oven heats just fine, but man, oh man, the noise its making sounds awful. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Frank. Sorry to tell you that the magnetron is going bad and making that terrible noise. Since the inside of a microwave, even unplugged has up to 2000 residual and deadly volts of electricity I recommend either calling a pro or replacing the unit.
