The printer is not printing. how do i obtain a new

The printer (Kodak 5300 AiO) is not printing. I tried cleaning the head over and over but the situation did not improve. I have therefore, decided to replace the print head. From where do I obtain a new head?

You MAY not need a new printhead... it's possible that it could be the printer. If you go through the troubleshooting guide on the Kodak website, it will give you a good indication of what the problem could be (printer or printhead) and offer the solution on how to resolve.

Just follow the troubleshooting through the steps and it will provide instructions on what you need to do.

The software should have a "clean print head" cycle but it does waste ink. Look under the printer properties in the control panel. right click and select properties. There should be some type of print head cleaning utilty.

Have you tried a new print head? If the printer is new, the heads aren't as full as replacement ones. Ususlly you get half as much ink. Try a new head and see if the situation changes.

1-Deep clean and calibrate the printhead
2-Try a firmware update @ www.kodak.com/go/downloads
3-Try a removal and reinstall of the printhead and inks
If all this fails, call Kodak Aio support : 1-800-421-6699 (USA)

Kodak 5300 aio printer won't print black


It is the print head. Cleaning the heads does not do any good, either does replacing the ink. What you'll need to do is contact Kodak's customer service line and they can replace it for you free of charge. On this site everyone seems to be saying it is consistently the black that stops, however, based on what Kodak said it is possible that either the black or the color can have this same issue.

When you call in they will ask you for your service number, which is located on the bottom left corner of the machine, when you lift the lid (as if you were going to replace the ink). They didn't ask me when I bought it, how much I used it, etc.

They will set up a case for you - it takes 2-3 business days for the print head to arrive. They will provide you with an invoice number as well. Be sure to document it all just incase the head never comes, or if there are additional issues after you receive it (and/or if it doesn't solve the problem)
