Question about Sta Rite Sr333na Max E Therm Pool & Spa Heater Dual Electronic Ignition Lo Nox 333,000 Btu Natural Gas

I have a sar-rite heater on my pool. The control on it will not turn off and the temp control will not go up or down. It is a sr400lp system with a simply starter control. Any recomendations were to start

By your description, it sounds like the membrane keypad has gone bad. When the push buttons no longer work, you can replace the membrane keypad. The Owner's Manual has the replacement part numbers in the back, if you do not have a manual you can find one at the following link:

With heater running put your hand by the exhaust and see if the air being expelled is hot. It will be if heater is producing heat. Depending on the size of the pool this heater can take some time to heat the water.

Capacitor needed


I don't know what capacitor you need but if it is part of the Sta Rite heater then I would call Sta Rite technical support at 888-782-7483 and they could likely help you come to a resolution.

What does R8 code mean on sta rite pool heater


These pool heaters have a very detailed and specific troubleshooting manual that will probably be the most helpful thing for you. They ask very specific questions about what appears on your heater and you will need to be looking at it to troubleshoot. Try walking through the troubleshooting guide below.

Where is this "R" if it is the one in the model SR400LP That is Rite, SR Sta-Rite, 400 is btu's in thousands, LP is liquid petrouliem or propane.
