Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

Action replay menu will not show up on my ds

My action replay for ds has been working fine until a few weeks ago when it all the sudden deleted all the data it had on it by itself. when i put the ar in the ds it doesn't show up and the screen just shows the ds's main menu. to even get the ar to sort of work, i have to keep pushing it in and out of the game slot and blowing the cartridge, the ar, and the game slot. if i'm lucky enough for the ar screen to even show up, it will either say "insert action replay" when i'm putting in the codes or when i click 'next' after putting in the codes the bottom screen will just turn into red and blue lines. i've tried resetting the ar by holding down a+b, then a+b+select the way recommended, and it took all the data off it like it should, but whenever i try to add new games or codes i have the same problem. i know it's not the console because the ar does the same thing in other consoles but i don't want to buy a new ar because i've heard it messes up the ds after you've already used one ar for a long time and then switch to another. i don't know what else to do and i can't find anymore information on hte problem.pleeeaaase help!

SOURCE: My ar is broken!

IF it freezes the instant the DS swiches on, then your Action Replay is Bricked.

Don't worry though, there is a way to Unbrick it. You'll need a flashcard and a pc with internet.

SOURCE: Action Replay DS trubleshotting

unistall the CD, then install it again. open the action replay manager. then, plug your action replay to the computer. a screen will pop up. the first one ask whether you want the message to be dusplayed or not. press yes, and install. while installing, there should be an error. it says stick in the disc, or try other options. try the disk one and press next. if it dosent work, repeat steps above and select other options. browse the CD file (my computer, then the CD) and it should reboot and work. worked on my brothers :D good luck :D contact nikynicaj@yahoo.com if you need anymore help :D

you can reconnect your ds+AR and you can put the codes back on there by clicking and draging one of codes list from codejunkies.com if you have your Action Replay Code Manager installed, which should come on a disc you bought with your AR

Action Replay DS has deleted avery single cheat code it came with

Your Action Replay DS hardware may require resetting if you are experiencing any of the following problems:
* Code Manager PC software is reporting that Action Replay DS does not contain enough free space when it actually contains no codes.
* Code Manager PC software is reporting the console`s battery is low when it’s actually fully charged.
* Multicoloured bars are shown on the screen after you confirm the entry of a game ID when trying to manually enter codes. * You can use the Code Manager PC software without any problems until the Action Replay DS is connected via USB set to the update mode on the console, at which point Windows shows a run time error.
If you are experiencing any of these problems, please follow the steps below to reset the Action Replay DS hardware. Please beware that resetting the Action Replay DS hardware will not restore a default codelist, and any codes which are stored on the Action Replay DS will be erased.
  1. With your console powered off insert the Action Replay DS
  2. Hold down buttons A+B
  3. Turn your console on
  4. With A+B still held down, as soon as you see the Action Replay DS license screen press and hold down buttons START+SELECT so that you now have 4 buttons held down
  5. Hold all 4 buttons down for around 10 seconds until the Action Replay DS loads to it`s home screen
  6. If Action Replay DS doesn’t hold on the license screen for around 10 seconds when you do this, you may need to turn off and try again

Problems with Action Replay DS

First reset your Action Replay by Holding the A+B+SELECT+START buttons when you start up the Action Replay (and pass the Warning Screen for the DS), the white screen will remain there for a while longer than normal

When the menu screen shows up, let go of the buttons

Now connect your DS to your computer, you should now be able to add codes to your DS
