Sharp comfort touch keeps turning up to "hi" fan repeatedly

Clean the air filter: A dirty air filter can cause the unit to malfunction. Remove the filter and clean it with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner. If the filter is damaged, replace it with a new one.

Check the thermostat: Make sure that the thermostat is set to the desired temperature and mode. If it is set to "fan only" mode, the unit will not cool the room.

Inspect the evaporator coil: The evaporator coil can become dirty or frozen, which can cause the unit to malfunction. Check the coil for dirt or ice buildup and clean it if necessary.

Check for obstructions: Make sure that there are no obstructions blocking the airflow around the unit, such as curtains, furniture, or other objects.

Reset the unit: Turn off the unit and unplug it from the power source for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on again.
If these steps do not work, you may require a technician.

Auto/On set to ON. Fan runs.

Sounds like the thermostat, the way to verify is to unplug indoor unit, remove thermostat, take pic of wiring with phone or label the wires as to the terminals. Carefully twist the yellow,(Y) Red (R) and the green (G) together. Plug the furnace back in, if the unit operates normally, replace the thermostat. I am basing this on the fact that the blower speed is changing. This could also be an anomaly within the circuit board in the furnace section, not likely though as the outside unit (condenser) is not controlled n by the indoor board unless this is a heat pump. hope this helps. Condenser Fan Shuts off after 15-20min, Compressor continues to run but gets hot

Condenser fan motor or motor wiring is bad. That compressor should never run without the fan. Good luck.

Whirlpool SXS.....1. compressor cooling fan quit so fridge and freezer stopped working. 2. replaced cooling fan and fridge and freezer working again. 3. Now the fridge and freezer works but runs nonst

Check to see if the sensor in the freezer compartment is encased in ice. If so, do a complete defrost and restart the unit. Another possibility is a bad thermostat and/or sensor.

What does it mean when the filter light stays on after the filter has been cleaned?

Generally, it indicates that the unit was not turned off and unplugged before removing and replacing the clean filter.Turn the unit OFF & unplug it for 10 minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it ON. The 10 minute timeout should have give the electronics time to rest and revert back to the original factory settings. if so, you can now set the controls as you like.

Hope this helped you & thanks for choosing FixYa.

The LG unit turns on but does not run. i have tried to turn DOWN the humidity % but it will not let me go less than 60%. I have cleaned the filter and cleared the drain hose. What else can I do?

Turn the unit OFF and unplug it for 15 minutes.
Then plug the unit back in and turn it ON. During that 15 minute timeout, the unit's electronics may have reset themselves and reverted back to the original factory settings. If it did, you can now set the controls as you like.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

After cleaning coils and in back of fridge, it appears that the defrost keeps cycling every 5 minutes

hi
Step 1:
If the compressor runs all the time, turn the control knob to the OFF position. If the compressor still runs, unplug the unit, then pull off the control knob and remove the screws holding the thermostat in place. Pull out the thermostat and remove either the red or the blue wire from its terminal. Plug in the unit. If the compressor doesn't run, the thermostat is faulty. Replace it with a new thermostat.

Step 2:
If the compressor runs after the wire is removed from its terminal, there is probably a short circuit somewhere in the unit's wiring. In this case, don't try to fix the problem yourself; call a professional service person.

Step 3:
If the refrigerator or freezer runs but the box doesn't cool, unplug the unit and remove the thermostat with a screwdriver. Disconnect both wires from the thermostat. Tape the ends of the wires together with electrical tape, and plug in the appliance. If the refrigerator starts and runs normally, the thermostat is faulty. Replace it with a new one of the same type. Connect the new thermostat the same way the old one was connected.

Step 4:
If the freezer compartment is normal but the refrigerator box doesn't cool, set the dials that control both compartments to mid-range. Remove these knobs (they're usually friction-fit). Then unscrew the temperature control housing; you'll see an air duct near the control. Replace the knob on the freezer thermostat and turn the control to the OFF position. Open the refrigerator door and look closely at the air duct. If this duct doesn't open wider in about ten minutes, the control is faulty. Replace the control with a new one of the same type. Connect the new control the same way the old one was connected.

Cuisinart Private Reserve cwc-900 wine cellar stopped cooling

I also had one of these CWC 900 units that quit working. The interior temp was 77deg F and the outside was 70 deg F.
The exterior panel was very warm to the touch where the heat exchanger was.

Like a previous person stated, there are two fans. One on the control unit board and then the main cooling fan for the exchanger. In my case, this main cooling fan had quit working - allowing excess heat to build up.

Solution: Unplug the unit! Remove the side panel of the CWC 900. First remove the 8 "finishing" plastic plugs that hide the screws. This was done with a sharp point on an ice pick to pry them out. Then remove the 8 screws with a torx T10 driver. At this point, plug the unit in and lower the temperature setting. In my case the small fan kicked on and the larger one did not. Un plug the unit. If you try and manually turn the fa you will feel resistance. Remove the cooling fan and black housing w/ 4 phillips screws. seperate the wires from the cable ties and then unplug the fan - you may have to remove a small amount of a plastic type glue to unplug the fan. Remove the fan from the plastic housing w/ 2 phillips screws. This is a fan made in China and I was unable to find a replacement on the web. Remove the center sticker on the back with the fan model number. Remove the center black plastic plug with a sharp point. You will now see the end of the shaft and a small split keeper ring. This ring is made of plastic - be gentle. Pry it open and remove it from the shaft (KEEP IT). Once the keeper is removed, you will be able to pull and seperate the motor from the fan blade and expose the shaft. I was not able to remove the small bearing from the motor so I wipe the shaft clean, applied white lithium grease and the re-assembled the unit. Fan spun freely. Put everything back together and the unit should be fixed!

Hoped this helped.
