Question about Garden
Craftsman 25cc weed eater (Poulan). I couldn't get it started, took some parts off, cleaned them, no help. Had a friend of a friend work on it. I can get it started now, but it quits after 3-4 minutes. The first few times it quitsI can get it restarted, then I can't. It seems to get REALLY flooded. Also, there seems to be a fuel leak from somewhere. I had replaced both fuel lines and the spark plug. I saw on this site a solution to a Poulan fuel line problem that said the return line should be only like 1'' into the tank. Mine is longer... is that a problem? ANY HELP is appreciated. This thing has started great for 10 years, until this year.
I already dumped all the old gas and mixed a new gallon at exactly the right ratio.
I'll get it started, be using it with throttle on, then it just goes off like it ran out of gas. But it has gas in the tank.

SOURCE: 25cc weed eater, will only idle
double check your carb as it should have a screw for the fuel mixture. some carbs have a plastic piece over them that only lets you move the screws so far if you need more extreme adjustment they pull out about a 1/8th of a inch then you can turn in then push it back in, same principals as making a flame on a bic lighter bigger, if you cant find it take some pics of your carb and email them to me @ firstname.lastname@example.org and i will point them out

MAKE SURE YOU REPLACE THE CARB GASKETS. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING FRESH FUEL WITH THE RIGHT MIXTURE. COMPRESSION SHOULD BE AT LEAST 90LBS

I found the manual for this model weed eater, according to the manual the mixture...
and I quote "This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline. Before operation, gasoline
must be mixed with a good quality synthetic 2-cycle air cooled engine oil designed to be
mixed at a Ratio of 40:1 ...." and I quote once more from the manual "Helpful Tip. To obtain
correct oil mix ration, pour 3.2 ounces of 2 cycle synthetic oil into one gallon of fresh gas."
Hope that helps,
If you like I can send the manual via email if you need it.
:) happy weed thrashing
