Hi My MSI L1600 laptop seems to be stuck in sleep mode. I have tried removing the battery - Even then the power stays on. I had shut it down the night before - and now it is stuck in sleep mode. As per someone's suggestion, I removed the ram and put it back again, Now I can hear the fan working. But the screen is black so I can't see anything. Someone said that the mother board may have died. I just want to confirm that it is dead. Then I'd have to find a way to retrieve some of the data from the hard drive.
Try to boot the computer, if you hear the start up sound then mobo is not bad. this issue could be caused due to boot sector viruses as well. see if the back light turns on ..
check the settings in bios and try to run a recovery. if neither helps
