Assuming you are allowing it to charge fully then the battery is failing.

Should be under warranty. Contact jbl for repair. Sounds like either the battery or charging circuit is bad

Unfortunately, it sounds as though the wrong wires were touching when ot was popping. Then it probably got hot and melted the sub standard soldering jobs in these things. I had a Roker do the same thing, opened it up and fried, wires not insulated and against each other. Sorry poor quality, speaker even though expensive. Can you return it? Contact the company.

Are they connected or paired now? Make sure you don't have any other device near that may have Bluetooth on. Like a laptop, PC,or tablet. Try forgetting the device, and reconnecting. If this fails make sure your phone isn't on wifi and cellular. If this all fails. I imagine its not the fault of your transmitter, but lies in the fault of your reciever, the JBL flip. Also, is it fully charged and is the speaker holding a charge? I'm a small Bluetooth speaker junkie, and I'm sorry but I am not impressed with these at all. There are much cheaper, and better made out there, than this one.

Seems the battery has gone bad prematurely. Charging circuits have to be good since the unit works fine off the adapter plugged into the mains.

Try another charge cable and adapter. If not, then see if the socket is loose. If the socket is loose it needs repair internally.
